I mapped the lawns with the mower module this spring. That process went fairly well.
However, now that I have the snowblower module, I thought it would be a good time to learn how to use the physical controller with the app. I’ve spent over an hour trying to figure out how to get the controller setup with the app. The app doesn’t turn vertical, which makes using the iOS app in the controller holder almost impossible. So I finally give up on that, turn the physical controller off and set it aside. Do people actually use the physical controller?
So, on to mapping the driveway. I bring up the Edit Map functionality, choose to add an area. Drive the yarbo to the starting point. Press start. Begin moving along the front of the garage …. no GPS.
Please explain to me (like I’m 5) how do I map anything as when I get within 5 feet of the garage the GPS looses signal and the yarbo stops mapping. We have a north facing driveway.
Start the mapping elsewhere, where you get a solid GPS signal
When you get to the area close to the garage, continue the mapping, and Yarbo should allow you to continue mapping, even if there is a marginal GPS signal in that location.
I highly suggest not mapping too close to the garage at first. Build in a buffer, just in case Yarbo gets closer to the garage than you’d like. As you gain experience with how Yarbo works, you can always edit the map to get closer.
@rgloverii@Kolbe Thanks for reminding me of the PPV. I was able increase some of the values and was able to successfully get all the way across the front of the garage. I then re-set the values to what was working very well in the yard. We’ll see how the test run goes and I’ll adjust as needed.
