New member and owner of Yarbo with Mower Pro. I’ve got the basic mapping down and have successfully mapped, put in paths, set no-go zone and mowed a couple of areas. Hoping I can get a little help here from experienced users.
My cut-able area is close to an acre and my wooded lot is having mapping issues. When I get close to the tree lines (especially South) my GPS gets weak and mapping fails. I am able to reconnect to the last good point and resume mapping, but it only works as long as I stay in a stronger GPS area, leaving out areas I’d like to cut.
I’m now looking at the Yarbo Labs PPVS (beta) settings. Any other suggestions before I change the shape of my lawn? TIA
I would adjust the PPVS setting for mapping up by 10-20ft but not much more than that. When it breaks, stop and wait. You may have to wait a little bit, but it should eventually recover. Make sure you aren’t hovering over the unit. You may be blocking GPS some. Also make sure the left antenna is away from the boundary line when you’re mapping. Left as you face the rear of the core.
To mirror what @bryan.wheeler said, being patient is a good thing. GPS coverage will change based on where the satellites happen to be at the time. Sometimes just waiting a minute or two will yield good results.
Also, the point about not hovering too close to Yarbo when mapping… Backing up or staying a few feet off to the side sometimes makes a big difference. Especially in an area that already has tree cover that is making GPS marginal.

Upping the PPVS settings allowed me to map one of two cutting areas this morning. Bumped them half way for initial testing and will adjust down later. Cut was successful but, as expected, boundaries near the woods and bushes need tweaking. Too hot today (100°F) to do much outside work, but will resume this evening. The PPVS setting seem to be the ticket. Thanks.
Definitely keep an eye on it for a few runs and you may want to tweak the PPVS setting for those questionable areas down a little bit, unless it is safe to run out of bounds some. Keep in mind that when it looses GPS and switches to Dead Reckoning it is all a best guess using the spin of the wheels and IMU sensor data. All of this looses accuracy fairly quickly especially when there is track slippage or slopes involved.
