How to transfer maps from old core to the replacement core

I’m getting a new replacement core this Friday. I’ve read a few posts about transferring the maps from one to the other but I’m not seeing any posts that say weather it can be done or not. If anyone has had to do this I’d appreciate your comments on it. I really don’t want to remap again but I’ll do it if I have to. But it sure would be nice if I didn’t have to.

The quick answer is that it depends on if the old Core is still accessible by Yarbo (the company) to extract and transfer the data.

So once you receive the new core, power BOTH of them up and open a ticket for Yarbo to transfer the data before you ship the old one back.

Good luck. I wouldn’t want to re-map either.

Ok thanks. The old core is operational but unless they send a replacement battery I won’t be able to power them both up. So I’m hoping they can upload the info from the old core then transfer it to the new core. I wonder if I can use the corded charger to power either one. I don’t know. I guess I’ll find out when I get the new core.

They can download the maps ahead of delivery of the new one. I’d open a ticket to get the maps from the old core as soon as possible.

And I wouldn’t ship back the old core until the maps are on the new core.

Yarbo needs a method for the user to backup maps and settings to local or cloud storage!

Thanks @bryan.wheeler @ken.w.gregory was going to ask about this. Friday is going to be my day as well for the new core to replace the one with the left front drive motor failure. They stated they had backed it up. To email them back once I got the new core in. Hope this will be a smooth Migrate from one to the other.:crossed_fingers: Support Ticket #109358

the migration went well but now I don’t have gps. the mower is on the charge pad but map shows yarbo about 50 feet away.i tried restart the core and the DC no luck. also double checked Wi-Fi.all seems good. don’t know what else to look at. any ideas?

You said checked WiFi. Hopefully that means it’s not connected to your core. Can you post your diagnostics screen. Specifically Rover, Status, data center, and HaLow sections. You can omit the gps coordinates.

the replacement core came with a replacement DC. so both are new.

Have you tried correct map drift?

Your RTK status is 1 and DC connection status is 0. Your HaLow connection is also FALSE. This indicates that the data center is not communicating with the core. I would try this. Disconnect the POE injector on the DC and pull the battery cable on the rover. Leave both disconnected for 5 mins. Power up the DC, then the rover. Check the RTK status, you want 4. Check the DC connection status, you want to see 2 fluctuating to 3 periodically. Halow status should be TRUE with a signal of -80 or less (closer to zero the better).

If you don’t see those, I would try the “REPLACE Data Center” option in the app. Make sure you do replace, otherwise it will wipe the maps. I believe it still warns that replace wipes maps. It doesn’t. REINSTALL will absolutely wipe maps though.

I tried that once before and it shifted all my maps by about 50 feet. I couldn’t get them back in line so I had to delete them and start over again. I was told by support not to use that function unless the app indicated map drift. I believe once I get my GPS working everything will snap back into place. hopefully. I don’t want to re map but I will if I have to. yarbo has been down for a week.

thank you for your help. I had everything set up and working before the maps were migrated back. I’ll get busy with this after coffee in the morning. I wish there was a way to back up my maps on my desktop computer here at the house. it sure would make things easier. but thanks again. I’ll let you know if I get it going.

Glad that worked for you! Just curious, did the app warn about map deletion when you did the replace option? If so, I really need to report that so they can fix that.
