I had a very unfortunate event and at some point a mouse felt like Yarbo would make a great home. Unfortunately it was not keen on the wires or perhaps felt as if the camera maybe spying on it. So it chewed though the camera and led wires, unfortunately right at the module. I asked support how I may get these modules so I could replace. They decided they would just send a refurbished core. I guess this is really amazing…
A bit worried by some of the stories on here.
I will say my core is clean and was brought up to current build. It looks well refurbished.
I followed the instructions, unfortunately it does not connect to the data center. Data center is on and solid green. Yarbo is currently connected to wifi. I can discover the data center over Bluetooth.
support told me I need to reinstall the data center. Is this required? This is not in the instructions. I was hoping to not have to redo my maps. It certainly says this will wipe them out, previous support says I would not have to do this. I don’t think they know how painstaking of a process it is to get these in perfect shape. Not colliding with low hanging things while getting these best cut and most grass cut.
Anyway…any tips or ideas on how to get the core connected to the DC without blowing away my maps. I mean if I knew for sure this was the fix I would reluctantly do it.
The thought has crossed my mind to just part out the pieces needed to my original unit.
Don’t fret. Support has your maps in the cloud. You can validate this under previous maps and click the cloud icon and then your old serial number. You HAVE to do the reinstall of the data center. It pairs the core and the DC for HaLow and GPS coordinates. Reinstall the DC, then restore your maps from your old cores serial number.
So indeed I now have connection and GPS. Was able to restore my map YAY. Unfortunately it seems to be be suffering from drift, was afraid of that. Tried to tell it to charge, well it’s a couple feet off. Unfortunately won’t let me use the drift correction unless it is charging…any ideas there? Should I reinstall the dock? Or just suffer through a remap. Trees with low branches worry me a bit.
I will note I did have it on the dock between yellow lines. After rereading maybe will try again. Oh and I guess I missed that it was data center or core replacement I was thinking either DC or both would require dc reinstall.
Put core between lines, back aligned to front of yellow line. Use the charge from the main screen where it shows battery percentage. Don’t do it from the remote control screen.
now I need to do a run where I can watch it.
@bryan.wheeler you rock by the way. Appreciate the help you provide to so many on here. Tech support has been good, but backing by one of us really makes a difference.
GPS was excellent, just map drift. Supposed could be several factors. New unit and well it looks like the wind has shifted my DC, just a minor amount.
The key was to clicking the charge in the right place. Hitting it from the remote control screen caused it to go back out and retry to dock on a dock that was a couple feet diagonal to it…
So far every time I’ve seen the map drift error I’ve just driven around or done a reboot and it’s been fine. Makes me leary of using the map drift correction feature
Glad you got it working and yes, Map Drift correction is highly recommended when restoring maps. I was told by Yarbo it wasn’t necessary, and in many instances, it isn’t. But clearly in your case, it was.
If you didn’t change anything and your DC and DS haven’t moved… DON’T do it. It should be a last resort. Reboot or driving it around generally fixes it 99.9% of the time unless something moved or changed.
@jyoke the wiki article says this, but just a note. All your settings for the areas, pathways, dead ends, etc will all be default. You will need to set all of those again as well as recreate any work plans and schedules.
Yeah it took me about an hour to get all the work plans and settings restored…not looking forward to having to redo all my mowing settings this spring. Hoping there’s a bulk edit option by then
I just want to report that all is working well with my replacement core. Fortunately I do not have complex work plans. Indeed I noticed that the settings for several things were gone. I was watching it mow nothing for a few minutes until I realized it was set at 4 inch cut height…will rework these, at least I am not out there remapping…still cold. Crazy Ohio weather was in the 70s now back to freezing…
unfortunately ALL settings that go along with the map are lost when you restore from the cloud. It is indeed a pain and I mowed a whole section before I noticed the 4” mow height.
Yeah, once you know it’s not the end of the world. I was at least able to do that from my couch. Just had to remember all the settings. Also the angle alignment, I once had them mostly aligned. Dont feel like going through that again…
