When a blocked motor/disc error is encountered, Yarbo immediately begins an auto recharge procedure and heads back to dock. This is not a preferred behavior.
I suggest to make a configuration option set allowing the user to decide how yarbo behaves on disc and motor blockage errors:
- Return to dock
- pause in place to wait for user inspection
- Back up 3 feet and re-engage motor to see if the blockage clears.
In all cases, the “clear error” button should clear. This is not the current function. You eather have to restart the system or resume the work plan to clear the error condition.

I would offer a fourth possibility of return to “secondary home” and let us define a way point that we could direct the rover to navigate in case of an error that won’t clear. That way we could set a location near our garage/house/safe spot in our yard that would make getting to the rover to investigate it easier. I haven’t had to do a lot of manual relocation of the rover, but when you have to it is not a pleasant task… Having a way to get the rover from the back 40 to the house if the cutting deck is jammed would be very handy.

Hi Brian,
Thanks for your suggestion. I will pass this feature request to our support team if more users are interested in this.

I have experienced this issue all too frequently on the back edge of my property. This is due to a seasonal damp area that grows faster than the rest. Yarbo gets a clump of grass stuck in there and needs me to:
- Shut down Yarbo
- Detach mower module & tilt up
- Rotate blade disks a bit to clear the clump (which is sometimes not much to clear)
I would like to suggest an optional behavior:
- Detect the motor over current or whatever when a grass clump forms
- Back up
- Cycle the blades reverse and forward for 5 seconds each direction 2 times
- Lower the blades 1/2 to 1 inch
- Cycle the blades reverse and forward for 5 seconds each direction 2 times
- Return blades to their programmed mowing height
- Resume mowing operation
This would be more favorable than Yarbo aborting and running home to mommy.
LOL
Thanks!
Kevin

I have my Yarbo set up deep in the woods where I have our cabin. I have this issue pretty regularly.
Tarbi has never sent me push notification when cutting motor has been blocked! Why, I don’t understand how hard it can be to make the application work like it supposed to. After 1+ years. A company what I would like to think is not running out from someone’s garage.
Anyway. Once I notice opening the application that mower has this issue and it had returned to the charging pad. I first clear the error. Spin the discs for 10 seconds. Then lift the motors all the way up. Do the 10 second spin again. Lower the motors all the way down and do the spin again. All the time before the spinning part I clear the error code. This is all done remotely using the application and then I send the mower back to work. Interesting enough the red error message never clears what I do this cycle. Once I had to to it 3 times. When it is still blocked it heads out for work. Finds the place it encountered the issue and try to spin the motors itself. When it’s successful the error message clears. If not it will return to the charging pad and I will just do the same thing again.
Once I removed all the protection guards this method have worked for me. I haven’t had to drive all the way to the cabin just to clean the machine what supposed to be autonomous thing begin with.
