Is there any data?

I’m consdering buying but all I read is horror stories across Reddit and the Forums.

Is there any data Yarbo can provide on failure rate of cores? How many customers need warranty over a 5 year period vs total units in service. Etc.

Yarbo does not give out any information like this.

Hi there, Yarbo comes with a two-year warranty. If you’d like additional coverage, you can also choose the three-year extended warranty when placing your order, giving you a total of five years of coverage.

We’ll continue to support you throughout the warranty period and help address any issues that come up, so please feel free to reach out whenever you need assistance.

It seems to be hit or miss. I know people that have had 4 or 5 cores replaced. I am personally on my original core, although I have replaced several mechanical parts myself under warranty.

I am on my 2nd Core, and it’s still running strong. The original core needed replacement as a result of my Trimmer killing the power board.

I think the hardware iteration process has resolved the most common hardware failure points on the Core aside from drivetrain related issues (which presumably will be resolved by the new Y40P’s hub motors).

Is this like confession time? Oh father I am on my 3rd core right now and still having current issues. It has been one day since my last yarbo issue.

Dear father, I have sinned. 6 times…

I think the policy of sending out new replacement cores have become more strict. I also have received lately just new parts and replacement instructions. Much more reasonable approach I must say. It’s nuts that I have sent them back so many units and they have sent me refurbished ones. The cost of doing this. Can’t even imagine how much money have been wasted like this.

On the mower side there are known brands and not so well known brands with much more reliable products you could buy. You could buy easily 2 mower units with LIDAR what could mow more then 1 Yarbo can. If I would be in need of buying a mower. I wouldn’t buy a robot without LIDAR.

If you also need a machine what can perform in winter time then there is no better option to be found today I think. Sure it needs a learning curve and extra weight added to the Yarbo core to really get it working autonomously. Couple tweaks here and there and it makes the winter snow removal a easy task you can just observe trough your window while you are inside and Yarbo is working for you.

Don’t skip the extra insurance coverage. You will need it. 100%

Yep, I wanted the extended warranty but waited since Yarbo gave a deadline of 6-months before warranty expiration. Their supplier then changed the deadline, pulling the rug out. I was none too happy about that.

You also have to keep in mind that they have delivered over 50,000 units. The people taking to the online forums are generally only those with terrible experiences (everyone wants to tell you about it) or really good ones who also feel compelled to share (far smaller group). If 500 people had a bad experience, that’s 1%, not 80%. Just bear the scale of things in mind.
