Because I have to recue my Yarbo all the time when it can’t get a signal lock, I have to use my Android phone to drive around to find a signal. While doing this i use my finger sliding around the screen to drive the unit. while doing for every lawn mowing, once a week i find the mowing height has moved to 1.2 and i am scalping my lawn! please lock the mowing height adjustment while manually driving Yarbo.
Better yet just make Yarbo use its cameras like an Eufy E18 robot lawn mower. I have a neighbor three door up from me and he has twice as many trees as i do and his Eufy E18 work autonomously every time day or night.
My Yarbo costs 5X to the E18 next door and i can’t run my unit on a schedule because I need to intervein every time I mow my lawn.
Did you manually turn on the blades? Normally if the GPS goes out I’ve seen the mower stop unless you explicitly start it. Shouldn’t be scalping the yard unless height was adjusted and blades turned on.
Is this issue happening due to accidental touches on the app controller? We apologize, but at this moment, we won’t be considering locking the mowing height adjustment while manually driving Yarbo. However, if accidental touches are contributing to this issue, we’ll definitely bring it up with the product team to explore UI optimizations that could reduce such unintended interactions. We appreciate your valuable feedback and will work on improving the experience!
Yes, it is very easy to bump when using the app controls. The control needs to be relocated or locked out when using the joystick. Preferably relocated.
Yes, I always run the blade when driving to find a signal. That way, I mow the grass, and when I restart the mower in a GPS available zone, I have less uncut grass to chase. I have a few trees that are very problematic for Yarbo. My cut on this problem is "When would you ever need to adjust the mowing height when the unit is cutting? My answer is never!
In the winter, the snow blower works great because the leaves are not blocking the signal. I wish they could add a second RTK antenna or program the camera to work when the GPS is offline.
When would you ever need to adjust the mowing height when Yarbo is moving and cutting?
Mowing height is a setting you would only use when starting to mow, sort of a set it and forget it control. Not move up and down while mowing. I think the once you turn on the blades it should lock the height and only allow changes when the blades are off.
When manually driving the rover to do mowing here and there, sure. I wouldn’t want it locked, although having a lock/unlock feature for that control might help. I’ve done my share of 1.2" cuts…oops!
