As someone who knows nothing about Yarbos other than what I read on here, I have a question. Is it possible to include more than one map in the Yarbo and if so how many are possible? Thanks in advance for any help.
I think right now it only allows for one map per rover and data center pair.
I think right now it only allows for one map per rover and data center pair, and per module.
i.e. there can be separate maps the mower, leaf blower, and snow blower modules for a specific rover/data center pair for , but there cannot be multiple maps for just one module like the mower module.
That said, you can have a TON of areas mapped out, which are effectively “separate maps”
Never mind what I said in the middle above. I stand corrected.
I’m not an expert, but I do not think you can create multiple maps. You can create one map with multiple work plans for snow blowing, mowing, etc.
So there is one overall map. The map contains areas, pathways, sidewalks, etc. you can have multiples of all of those. Settings for those depend on what module is attached. Modules share them all. You can back up your map and restore them if you want to do something like different seasonal ones. Just know that all settings, schedules, and work plans default when you restore.
Like a good neighbor @Lives is here.
I wish you lived in my neighborhood.
Thank you. I guess this would have been easier if I had just asked this question. So, my idea is to have the Yarbo pull a spreader, sprayer, core aerator, and perhaps a tiller for the garden. The only real difference in mapping that I can see is, that with the core aerator, spreader, and the sprayer the body could not get as close to the driveway, the shrubbery, the fence because the tool would throw stuff on it or damage it in the case of the aerator. So, is it possible to do this or would you have to drive it while you were using the tools other than the mower?
Short answer - Until Tow Mode is released, do NOT attempt to have Yarbo automatically tow things.
Why not? Because Yarbo has a delightful tendency to perform unexpected zero turns and/or backups. Either of which is a recipe for jackknifing the thing being towed, and also snapping your tow hitch.
I guess I would do what @rgloverii suggested. I did not try to tow anything autonomously or manually and did know about the Tow Mode release is coming sometime in the future.
Correction. Actually, did not know about the Tow Mode release is coming sometime in the future.
Thank you. I did not know that. Perhaps Yarbo will make a way to have more maps put in the system for different jobs
I don’t know that they are going to add more maps. But, they may filter areas, pathways, etc based on the attached module and user defined labels.
That would seem to fix my issue. Do you know the best way to suggest this to them?
And thank you.
Best way is to make a feature request here in that section of the forum. Users heart it to show interest and they’ll add it to the list for consideration.
