Quick inquiry. My yard is almost impossible to have all coverage on one map due to fencing and gates involved with such. Is it possible to add my existing core as an additional unit and create a map (s) for those other areas that I cannot include on the map for the accessible areas? Thanks in advance for any input.
You can’t have 2 maps but you can have multiple areas on the map.
Hi there, we are afraid that currently you cannot use one core to draw two separate maps at the same time.
Currently, one core only supports one active map. If the areas cannot be connected through pathways or accessible routes, a separate core would be needed for another map.
BUMMER! Not even if I add it as another unit? (I’m assuming that the system works on and recognizes units by serial number, which does make sense, but it’s nice to wish.) Thank you for the help guys. I will start working on a way to remap my entire property with it’s limited access to the areas of concern that I touched on.
Are you asking if you can copy maps from one core to another? That’s possible.
No. But I do understand the map copy process that you addressed. I was on the thought that if I add my unit with a different name, it could be possible to address what I mentioned earlier. As I said, I’m guessing that the serial number and programming to recognize one unit as one unit regardless the name would prevent that. And that is understood also. But as I said, it’s nice to dream. I’ll just have to work on a full remap of my yard and “Create” ways to do it. That boils down to temporarily removing fence sections to map the property perimeter and reinstalling after mapping is complete. From there I can create individual work areas and plans and schedules.
Could you maybe share your map and some photos of what you are trying to accomplish? Maybe we can help.
It sounds as if you think you need to have one big map of the whole property. You don’t. Map smaller areas however you can. Then assemble the areas into one or more work plans. Be sure you connect areas in the same plan with pathways.
Thank you for that good info. But that raises another question. Are you saying that I can create “Areas” BEFORE I create a map? That all would make sense as you explained, but the APP asks you to create a MAP first. Maybe that is where my dumb mind goes south. I AM on the mindset that I have to create a MAP as the app presents. I will try your guidance tomorrow and see what happens. Thanks again!
When you make a map it consists of x number of areas and x number of pathways and x number of dead ends if you use them. and Patrol lines. there is no limit to the number of areas you can make. start by making some smaller areas and expand your map.
Thank you all for your input. I think my misconception in the matter was the CREATE MAP thing. By all your info, the AREAS, Paths, D/E’s, NGZ’s etc, that I create (When the app prompts to “Create Map”) BUILDS THE “MAP” in the end. Am I getting smarter or dumber on my understanding on this?
All this discussed, I believe that I was thinking things backwards based on the “Create Map” prompt on the app. Now I see it the other way around. At the Create Map prompt, I create multiple areas etc, and when I complete that I have created THE MAP. Am I correct in this?
Precisely. And you can always expand your Map with more areas and etc. and take Yarbo on a trip to another house and make an area there.
I FINALLY GOT IT! When the app says Create Map, it really means “Build Puzzle”. You create pieces of the puzzle and join them all together with paths. And in the end the app puts them all together and calls it a MAP. Correct? I darn sure hope so. If so, Yarbo should address/explain that in their setup guides.
Unpopular opinion: I would actually buy another core if I could have 1 map (shared rtk) and 2 cores ![]()
That’s correct. You “create a map” by first installing the Data Center, then the docking station, then creating an area (drawing the boundary around say your front yard) you then create a pathway to the docking station and all of that sits on the “map”. You can then add more areas, connecting them together with a pathway. As long as they are all chained together, Yarbo can find its way from the dock to whatever area you want it to work in. You define what that is in what’s called a “Work Plan”. Work Plans are what you execute or schedule.
I would love this. Not unpopular in my book.
The one thing that that made this all so cloudy and difficult is that when I originally mapped my driveway last fall for snowblower. All worked well through the winter. But when I tried to ADD my front and back yards as New areas,(This Spring) the app wouldn’t let me. That’s what triggered all this confusion. I’m assuming that software/app updates since my original mapping in Nov 2025 changed things to what you have sorted out and clarified for me. We got rained out yesterday so I didn’t get a chance to start remapping. Nice weather today and I am on my way out to finally put this all to rest. THANKS AGAIN FOR ALL YOUR HELP!
Nothing should’ve prevented that unless your maps got wiped out for some reason. Then it would say “create map”
