It would be great if mowing direction were only possible from top to bottom on slopes.

Agreed - an equivalent to slope mode for the snow blower but for the mower. Like an auto area of dead ends. Definitely been asked before, numerous times.

I would use both depending on the slope. Make it area selectable not limiting.

But the mower should stay uphill of the core? I think they still have the reverse obstacle avoidance in beta?
Why not user choice? Front first or rear first options.
I thought the main issue was when it backed up the rear end lifts and loses traction? Although maybe once we get the back brace and we can mount some ballast to help with that
Sometimes that still might be the best and safest way to mow a slope though. And yes, it should help.
