Need updated mapping tools!

We really need a way to update an area and no-go zones easily. I have 5 acres broken into multiple areas but one area is missing a small area on the boundary that I mapped. Right now the only way is to remap it, which will take over 10 minutes. I should be able to add a few new points to existing lines and drag to adjust the map. Look at DroneDeploy and how they define mapping. I understand mapping the initial area with the yarbo, but small adjustments should be able to be made by adjusting with manual points added, or even just have the yarbo remap the small area and then merge it with an existing overlapping area.
I’m having lots of issues getting no-go zones created along a creek that does not have straight borders. There should be a way to have a no-go zone automatically aligned with a mapped area border.
Thanks!

You can use the edit map feature to add or shrink areas or split. The split unfortunately does currently ask you to pick which area to keep, but you can remap the smaller area as it’s own.

Followup for @kent1 -

You’ll probably run into this, especially with that creek boundary.

Editing an area requires the core to cross a perimeter boundary to start, and also to finish. Sometimes, that might be difficult / impossible if the perimeter is against a hard stop or hazard; you literally cannot / must not get on the outside of it. Other times, the starting point requires you to trace an existing perimeter for some distance, and the app will reject it as being “too complex”, because your path crossed the perimeter many, many, many times.

You can work around that by making two edits. First, shave off that region from farther back along the perimeter where you can cross the edge, and delete that region. Then make a second edit to add back that region with whatever additional changes you originally wanted to make.

I find it easiest to make several smaller edits rather than one big one, if you have that situation.

Thank you for your valuable feedback!

We are currently working on improving the mapping process, including enhancements to the map editing feature.

We will pass your suggestions along to our product team for further consideration.

While we are optimizing this feature, we also need to balance accuracy, safety, and user convenience, which is why the current map editing functionality has some limitations.

However, we are continuously working to improve this process and make it more flexible.

Thank you again for sharing your input — it’s very helpful to us!

This!!! Yes!!! - I’ve only just started my mapping process and was surprised that you can’t simply zoom in far enough to grab a line and have it snap to grids. This uses Lat Long points I guess for positioning, right? Why not be able to simply use a stylus to straighten an edge if you like. In my case I accidently left a pointy little area that should have been simple to snip off with a stylus or command rather than having to navigate the rover back over to it and try to do it while driving. - I tried to set my map such that the rover could simply drive forward with gentle curves that it should easily be able to do without back and forth herky jerky movements. Straighten lines and smooth curves. Should be doable with a stylus once the rough area has been driven and logged.

I just let No-go Zones hang out of the mapped border. It’s what’s inside the mapped border that counts.

See the little rectangle about 10 o’clock. That’s a cement pad in front of a shed door. Most of the No-go Zone is outside the boundary and in the shed.

I’ve done similar to keep the rover back from something at/near a border. No biggie.
