Allow small boundary adjustments to be made within the app by dragging the boundary around. Large changes shouldn’t be made like this, but if I see I can move the edge out by 6 inches in a specific spot, would be nice to do this in app instead of having to take Yarbo out and cross the boundaries to make the adjustment.
Nice idea! A feature of this type would also be very useful where the existing edit feature cannot work.
The existing edit requires crossing a boundary, which cannot happen if the edit is near a wall or hazard.
For implementation of Jeremy’s idea, I’d suggest node dragging. The area polygons are somewhat generalized, so an ability to see and drag those spline points would be extremely useful around hazards and walls.
An ability to delete a node would be nice, also, especially where some of the problem perimeter shapes (with self-crossing edges, etc) are concerned.
@Steve exactly what I was imaging, dragging with nodes.
This could also be a useful way to get rid of those sharp “spikes” that are created when you accidentally drive Yarbo too far and have to back up and adjust direction. Of course, it would be even better if the software recognized this and suggested removing it automatically.
In general, though, being able to drag the boundary using nodes/spline-points (and deleting a node as well) would be so helpful. This would really allow you to dial in the boundary, something that generally isn’t possible right now.
I know Yarbo doesn’t want to allow in-app map creation/editing due to safety issues, but making “small” adjustments shouldn’t be an issue.
This feature or something similar is already on the development list.
This truly would be a great feature to make fine adjustments to my map. I understand the safety feature so maybe limit the in app adjustments to less than the width of the robot.
