First time using the plow and boy did it damage our asphalt driveway. The bottom of the plow is way too sharp imo. It was set to .43” and i guess it needs to be 1” high to avoid this?
That doesn’t sound right, you should be able to go down to 0" with the snow blower and the plow. Do you have lots of bumps, dips, and uneven terrain?

Normally, for an asphalt driveway, setting the plow and auger height to 0 inches should be acceptable. That said, driveway conditions can vary. Could you share a bit more information about your driveway surface? For example, does it have any uneven areas, dips, or raised sections?
If the surface isn’t perfectly smooth, you may want to raise the height slightly and fine-tune it with a few test runs to find the most suitable setting for your specific driveway.
