Pushing sidewalk feature past the edge?

OK, so as a controls engineer I like to push boundaries…I often tell my co-workers to break it until they can’t…. I might have broke the path algorithm based on this one…

So maybe a very far fringe case, and one I kind found on accident…it also might be changing during the next thaw, but I made this sidewalk to clean in front of my solar panel arrays, when I first made it I decided part way through to clear in front of both arrays with 1 sidewalk, so I backed up and re-positioned to go along the front of the next array…with some skepticism I ran the sidewalk and it actually did exactly how I drove it! So I decided to re-map it and really try to push it. The arrays are in the grassy area and so I don’t want it doing tank turns but I can drive straight past the array out onto the sidewalk, adjust, backup, adjust, and then go back forward without tearing up the grass… … … only this time when I ran it it drove around through multiple pathways and areas to the end of the sidewalk, now here’s where it gets interesting…it procedes to back into the sidewalk and drive backwards for the entire work plan out to the end and then declare the plan over:sweat_smile::sweat_smile::sweat_smile: I laughed out loud:grin::joy:

Hi there, thank you for sharing this. This is definitely a rare case and not something we have seen before. To help us look into it, could you let us know approximately when this happened? With the timestamp, we can have our team review the logs on our side.

If you are open to it, it would also be helpful to create a support ticket so we can track the investigation. We really appreciate you taking the time to push the limits and share the results with us.

It was the Testing SW8 plan iirc, in EST

Would you mind opening a support ticket for this? I’ll work directly with our tech team to investigate into it.

I’ll try to go run it again and see what happens.

Finally had a chance to test. After further thinking, that plan, although probably more efficient, probably won’t work with heavier accumulations(I’m planning to run it after I clear snow off my solar panels). I recreated it as 2 separate sidewalks and that works. I did try one of the suggestions from the support team but the plan still ran backwards.
