Regularly missing sections

Hey buddy, you missed a spot😅

This seems to always happen in this first section of the driveway next to where my wife parks, is it likely due to the car detection? If you watch the live plan view it will go to start a row, zero turn a couple times and then mark the down and back path as completed and then move over…sometimes it misses a couple paths, but it usually runs the perimeters very accurately so I would think it should be able to do the whole area…I’m also wondering if it’s related to the front camera partial obstruction from freezing snow… this one was from yesterday after running the 2nd time…

Hi.

The app screen will show you exactly what Yarbo is planning to do, and will indicate if there are any perceived obstacles encountered that it will try to drive around.

Do you see red blobs on the app’s map when Yarbo is working?

To answer your question, no, Yarbo shouldn’t be missing spots. So it’s likely deliberately avoiding those areas for some reason.

Nope no obstacle point clouds being generated in those spots. Actually just remembered I got a screen recording of it happening: https://photos.app.goo.gl/gJ7rrCa2MjxYhP8F9

Watch the screen and see if it says avoiding obstacle when it’s doing it. It sounds very much like obstacle avoidance and it should point cloud map it, but it will clear that over time or it doesn’t always load in the app if the data is a little latent. It also keeps its distance from vehicles. I think it’s 3-5 ft if I remember correctly.

Check out the split screen recording above when you have a moment would be interesting to get your take on it

Yep, it’s actively avoiding the car. See the cloud point inside the NGZ? That fill in the line is what it does. It’s keeping a distance away from the vehicle. That’s why it’s missing stuff.

Yes it sees the car. Try turning off car detect. or make it circle or slope route pattern

This. Turn off the car detection, but make absolutely sure there are no obstacles (including cars) within the work area.

But it’s able to do the perimeter pass even with the car detection point cloud there. And some of the passes it does successfully. Wonder if it’s related to the cameras getting snow/water covered momentarily?

Also the “navigating around obstacle” message doesn’t pop up and it does 2 random passes in the middle of the area correctly? Or is that just the beta functionality for now? They need to start adding asterisks and fine print to the marketing:sweat_smile::sweat_smile::sweat_smile:

Now I wish the S1 had vision zones like the mower pro:sweat_smile::sweat_smile::sweat_smile:

Mine sees my dumpster inside a no go zone and gives it fits. So I experience the same thing as you just without wheels.

Hi there! Thanks for sharing the photo and the detailed description. This issue may need further investigation by our support team. At this point, it’s not yet certain whether the behavior is related to the car detection feature, as others have discussed. A closer review by our support team will help confirm the root cause and provide more accurate guidance.

OK, I was able to record another instances of skipping passes today, it happened 2 different times though one with the parallel pattern and 1 with the slope pattern, so it seems as though it’s not necessarily related to a specific pattern chosen. ticket 149755

What if you change the snow throwing direction so that Yarbo drives parallel to the car?

It’ll hit the solar panels, the garage or the car, any of the other directions. Eventually I’ll get the solar panels up top on the mount but that’s a spring/summer problem:sweat_smile:

yeah okay i can see it. still think it sees the car. have you tried making an area outside the other car. so there’s not a no go zone in the work area.

Then I’d have to draw more pathways connecting them, ideally I’d like only 1 or 2 zones mapped and turn on/off the no-go zone automatically and the snow goes where I want it. It could sort of do it with 1 zone but often would shoot snow the wrong way or too far so I had to break it up to get the deflector to be lower in some portions of the drive and throw it as far as possible in other parts. I get if it’s a bug, but it doesn’t have any problem running the perimeter pass to map out the car and then travel to and from the sidewalk I put through the front part of the no-go zone to clear to the doorway:

Thanks for sharing the additional details and for submitting ticket #149755.

We’ve gone ahead and transferred your case to our field service engineer for further investigation. They’ll take a closer look at the skipping passes you observed across different patterns.

We appreciate your patience and the helpful information you’ve provided!
