Snowblowing with car in driveway

I’m considering purchasing a Yarbo with the snowblower (and mower). I do not have a garage near my driveway, I do have a pole-barn behind my house (I don’t put the car there though, it would be where the Yarbo is docked). My car stays in my driveway, and I’m curious how the snowblower mode will work when there is a car present. Does it just “avoid” the car, or would I need to design a “no-go” zone and park the car in the same place to have efficient snow clearing?

Best to use No Go Zone for where vehicles are going to be parked. You can enable and disable them as needed before starting the plan. Use the obstacle avoidance for the unexpected encounters (someone parked where they shouldn’t have and you didn’t know) vs relying on it to be the only solution for every use. It will plan it’s route more efficiently and not have to calculate a way around the object which will slow it down and eat up battery life.

Hi there,

Thanks so much for your interest in Yarbo and for your great question!

At the moment, you’ll need to set up a no-go zone for your car to ensure safe operation of Yarbo during snow removal. However, in our upcoming updates, we’re introducing a car detection feature (beta) for the snowblower module. This will help Yarbo automatically recognize and avoid vehicles, even in areas where a no-go zone hasn’t been defined — reducing the chance of accidental incidents.

Hope this helps! Please feel free to reach out if you have any more questions.

Sounds good. Thanks! The good thing is it’s a rather large (square) driveway, and we have just one car that I am the primary driver of. I can easily remember to park in the same place.

Thank you! That’s pretty much what I assumed, and it will be handy to have the car detection feature if for some reason out setup changes. Thanks again!
