Honestly, I haven’t done it in over a month, but if I remember correctly, when I was away from home I could connect to my Yarbo without having to activate the phone’s 4G option via the app, but simply by leaving it connected to my Wi-Fi network. Is this correct or am I remembering incorrectly? Now I can only do it using the 4G connection.I would like to point out that it does not depend on the latest update as I have not yet received the latest firmware.
You should be able to remotely connect to your core via any internet connection available to your phone. If you can’t remotely connect when away from home that probably means your DC doesn’t have internet connectivity to your home router. So in this case you’d either have to connect to the core over Bluetooth (have to be in range) or it’s 4G service (on the core, enable cellular in app) to give the core internet access so that the app can remotely connect to it.
My Yarbo is connected both via wifi and ethernet cable directly to the router and it works great when I’m at home under my internet network but no longer away from home
Generally it’s not recommended to use WiFi on the core but to rely on HaLow. That could be a factor. Look at your HaLow section in the diagnostics and see if it says true or false. If it says false, reboot your data center.
However, that WiFi icon is supposed to indicate how your core is getting to the internet. So it should in theory have internet that way which enables the remote access. If you forget the WiFi network on the core, does it show 4G in the app or HaLow?
It’s working again. Problem solved.
Any idea what the fix was?
Honestly, no. It started working again without me having done anything special.
