I ordered and received a refurbished Y core unit from the Yarbo website. When setting up the DC, while putting on the Halow antenna, the antenna sheared at the connection point. I put in a service ticket and Yarbo’s response time was very good. They said they would send me a replacement antenna and a how-to installation video, and they did.
The problem is my DC must be a relatively newer design. The replacement parts and video were for an antenna that actuated 90 degrees. So the connector in the DC on that model comes out perpendicular to the DC.
My DC came with an antenna that does not actuate at all. The whole antenna is just straight rigid. The design of the connector is a 90 degree angle.
I’m waiting for Yarbo to give me guidance, but in the meantime I was wondering if anyone has had this component break and if so how did you fix it?
Not sure I understand, can you not remove the antenna barrel in your picture of the DC there? Was the antenna installed from the factory or did that whole assembly screw onto the DC? The articulating antenna will work if you can remove that piece.
I tried unscrewing the metal connector, but it wouldn’t budge and and I did not want to break it if it is somehow mounted in the plastic casing and is not screwed in at all.
The antenna was not installed from the factory. I had to screw the antenna into the already affixed connector in the DC as pictured.
I am worried if I apply too much force trying to “unscrew” the connector i will just break it off.
So no one else has this type of configuration for the antennas on their DC?
Got it. You’re the first I’ve heard of so far. However, that doesn’t mean no one else does. Hopefully @Yarbo-Forum can help get you the right part ASAP. Drop your ticket number here so they can follow up.
In the interim, you can use 4G and NetRTK to get up and going without the DC.
