setting up AUTOMATIC PLANS

Can we get a video of how to set up the automatic snow clearing plan, including some things that can make it fail? So far its all muddy to me. Just turn the toggle on and it does it?

Set the toggle for notifications and auto schedule on. Make sure the plan you want it to auto schedule is the first work plan in the list. That’s the only one that will be scheduled. Wait for the forecast to have snow in it and notify you. It should create a schedule for you if the notifications fires. Sometimes they don’t. If they don’t, you will need to set a manual schedule for now.

Hi there, as Bryan explained, to use automatic snow clearing you just need to turn on both the Snowfall Notification and Automatically Schedule toggles. Once those are enabled, the system will automatically create a work schedule for you when snow is forecasted for your area.

That said, there are some current limitations to be aware of. The feature relies on weather data, and in some cases the weather API may not be fully accurate for your location. When that happens, a schedule may not be created even though it is snowing, and you may need to manually start your work plan.

We’re actively working on optimizing this feature and improving reliability now.

A 5 to 7 inch prediction did not create a schedule. Or notification that I saw. I want to see this fully succeed. The printed words sound good, but everything else has a video, part of that could be an assurance that it is still a work in progress and customers may have to schedule runs if they don’t see the auto schedule X number of hours before the storm hits.

Same for our last snowfall.

The notifications haven’t been working recently for me either.

I turned OFF the automatic scheduling out of caution until I have confidence the scheduling feature will work as desired.

I didn’t get notifications for yesterdays snow that I got.

I have a ticket in on this issue, so far the best response I’ve received is:

I got a few notifications today, wasn’t even that much snow at that point, most of it came last night😅

Sorry. I think that I’m missing something. I’ve set the toggles to on. I switch to the automatic tab, but then I’m not sure how to add the plan to the auto schedule. If I hit the + and add a schedule, it shows up under the manual tab. How do I add an automatic schedule?

Big snowstorm coming. I want to get this correct. I’m not home so this is a big test of the “autonomy”.

Thank you!

If your work plans have the work area you want done listed first and it was created first, you’ve done everything you need to do. When the forecast a few hours out detects an accumulation of 2 inches it will automatically create a schedule. You’ll need to monitor this as it’s not perfect and may not work. Weather forecast data is unreliable and this right now doesn’t work for every area. Your best bet is a manual schedule once you have 1-2 inches on the ground.

Here is the wiki article that explains it.
