Is there an exit parking mode that allows Yarbo to move out of the charging pad, wait for GPS to gain signal then start the scheduled task? My yarbo is parked inside a shed that blocks GPS signals, so I can’t start any task when it’s parked inside the shed. But I can manually move the yarbo outside of shed, yarbo will then pick up GPS in about 30 seconds, I can then start any task after that.
Can we build the “exit parking” mode so that yarbo can leave the shed automatically? It doesn’t need to move too far, just move out of the charging pad is sufficient enough to gain enough GPS in my case.
SO many people have asked for this. This would be nice. Other mowers from other companies do this. Let us specify in feet how far forward it will drive straight off the dock to do this.
Hi there, thanks for sharing this suggestion — it’s a really practical use case.
I’ve moved this topic to the Suggestions & Feature Requests category so it can get more visibility. I’ll also continue to keep an eye on community interest in this feature.
If more users express the same need, I’ll be happy to pass it along to our product team for consideration.
This feature has been asked for in this forum for a year now. That should give it a +20 vote count before it even starts. This would help out a ton of people, and make yarbo installs much better.
Not to mention all the asks over the years on FB, discord, etc. If safety is a concern, force obstacle avoidance (or person/animal detection) on and not able to be disabled until it is refined/proven. Or just let the user accept the risk and responsibility.
Well … without GPS Yarbo will not know if “4 meters straight” will result in “4 meters straight” in reality …
Yarbo will apply idetical force to both motors, but won’t have any clue what is the traction/grip for each track and Yarbo might be driving in circle in reality.
The IMU and wheel odometry should be able to account for this. It’s what PPVS uses now and even with track slippage and slopes in short distances it can maintain a semblance of some accuracy.
