Good idea!
Crazy and unfortunate that we need to go to such extremes though.

Agreed, but they’ll get it sorted out. Hopefully soon.
Hi there, we’re really sorry to hear about the unsmooth experience. Based on the current logic, Yarbo will automatically calculate what it believes is the best route by using all available map elements. We understand you’d prefer it to rely only on the snow-blowing elements for this task, and we’ve shared this feedback with our product team for further optimization.
As a temporary workaround, you can manually save your current map and then delete the elements you don’t want Yarbo to travel through. This can help ensure a smoother path and prevent unnecessary detours.
We hope this helps address your most urgent need for now, and please feel free to reach out if you continue to run into issues.
Sure, but when you restore the map, don’t you lose all the settings on everything?
For my big surprise the snowblower needed snow throwing directions set to all pathways. I deleted all maps and started from the scratch for the snowblower. Just it not to wander around in places I don’t want it to go.
As I have extra weight at the back then old areas where too close to the hose and other objects. Was way easier just to draw a new map. Sure it is extra work again in the spring to map again for the mowing unit but life is constantly the art of compromises anyway. I don’t mind doing it again.
For another surprise is that Yarbo hasn’t fixed the issue of throwing snow to the directions it shouldn’t. Like to the windows of my house or to the direction where I have my EQS AMG parked. On both of those things I would prefer to have them with not scratched or even broken windows. Now when the unit turns it doesn’t care what side you mapped it only can throw the snow. It was the biggest challenge last year’s winter and as by the test runs the issue is still not fixed. @Yarbo-Forum when this super bug will be fixed?
Workaround for this issue is to lower the deflector angle to the minimum. At least then it is hitting the snow to the walls of the house and not as high as to reach the windows. For the car I have had to make a seperate parking area and it is hidden from the main snowblowing area that Yarbo can’t make ice or rock shower for it. I have all gravel-grass areas so rocks can be found. Especially at the sides of the mapped areas. Where Yarbo makes zero turns and therefore gets the gravel loose.
That’s correct. Area, pathway, etc. plus schedules and work plans. Beats remapping though.
Yea, Yarbo’s propensity to throw snow in undesired directions was my biggest concern. I spent a ton of time designing the driveway workplans to mitigate that issue as best as possible.
For me, I was more worried about throwing snow at oncoming cars as the end of the driveway. So far, it seems I was successful in avoiding most of that potential.
For the garage/house area, I created sub zones that isolate out where my kids park their cars to charge them. And the area near the garage door & house is also a separate zone with a carefully thought out snow throwing strategy.
I’ve only used the snowblower once so far this season, but thankfully it seems the throwing worked as I had planned. Knock on wood!
Yeah I’m kinda at a loss…if I have a throwing direction set and the chute can aim that way why doesn’t it? At least let us add no-throw directions. Yarbo threw quite a bit of snow into an area it had already cleared…but at least it didn’t throw too much into the road😅. It also likes to hit the garage…
I think I’m going to extend the driveway area across the sidewalk and part way down the apron, leave my snow plow no go zone and then add some sidewalks to do the edge of the snow plow bank, have the apron extend out into the road a bit and then try slope mode.
Let me know what you find out. Hopefully you’ll come up with a method that works reliably for you.
We’re not expecting any more snow until next week, so that gives me some time to tinker with the layouts some more. I need to re-do the walkway to the front door, for example.
I hear rolling down the car window when near a yarbo is like taking a cold shower. Great way to wake up early in the morning. ![]()
Sounds like a rude awakening

Dodged a bullet right there….
Rename your Yarbo to Neo
That’s no bueno. Get a ticket open ASAP.
Yes, when you restore the map, all settings will return to their default values, and you’ll need to reconfigure them afterward.
We understand that optimizing the snow-blowing direction is a major concern for many users, and we are actively working on improvements in this area. We truly appreciate your patience as we continue refining this feature. And thank you for sharing your workaround — it’s very helpful for others who may be facing the same situation.
