One of the main uses I had for the snow blower was my patio area. It could not be cleared by a truck with a blade. Now I’m finding scratch marks on my patio pavers. Any ideas out there for studs that would provide traction without scratching? I was thinking of 3D printing something, but wondered if there was anything already out there.
I’m not aware of any 3d printed replacements however, you can remove the studs and it gets quite good traction.
I have and I know of several others who have removed the studs.

I’m removing the studs from my Yarbo later today.
They were seriously ruining the grass in front of my dock.

My experience says that will help some. But the snowblower tracks are still aggressive.

I ordered some temporary paver things to put in front of the dock until spring. Home Depot is delivering them today.

Keep them. It really helps to have a hard surface for it to zero turn on and dock.

Unless you are dealing with ice, use the stud removal tool for the drill they included and remove them. Only install them if you’re dealing with an ice layer or have a hard pack of snow on a gravel driveway and you need the extra traction. I wish they would put a label on the tracks telling people to remove them if not needed.

Now that I’ve verified I can get away with only 1 dock, I’ll be building a decorative paved docking location in the spring. That’ll take care of the zero turn problem permanently.
Until now, I wasn’t sure if the chosen location would work properly for both warm weather and winter.

Thanks for comments. I will try removing them as you all have suggested. May try out the 3D printed route if the ice starts to build up this year.

I really wish it could smart turn like the mowers… clear a large square area in front and execute the maneuver…sigh
