Snowblower disconnects

I have a new issue with my snowblower. Everytime my snowblower raises and lowers the head it dis-connects from the base saying no module detected. I have dis-connected the unit completely including the power cord and put back together making sure the latches latch. I Have restarted unit several times by the app. I have pushed the start button on the unit. I have taken off the battery and reconnected the battery. The blower still disconnects when it raises and lowers.

Definitely get a ticket opened if you haven’t already and submit video of what you are seeing to help speed the analysis up.

How did this issue get resolved?

For module disconnection issues, we usually recommend switching to another module as the first troubleshooting step to check whether the issue is with the core unit or the snow blower module. In this case, the issue was resolved after doing that, so it was likely caused by a loose connector.

Seems like.this issue is popping up a bit (myself included). I have reconnected the SB and other modules several times and it has not resolved the issue. I suspect there is another underlying cause lurking out there?

Please see this thread: New core, new problems

@OhCanada Based on our findings, your issue is likely caused by a loose or poor connection in the M25 wiring harness.

I’m seeing this same issue now, it seems like if I move/push the back of the cable that plugs into the module it will reconnect and then later disconnect again. Definitely happens when the snowblower module raises/lowers. Kind of seems like maybe there isn’t enough slack on the wiring to the connector for the amount of movement that happens with the snowblower. The plug mechanism itself doesn’t seem loose at all.

Makes sense or the cables are too tight and rubbed the casing or something.

don’t think I’ve noticed any wear on the cables, but I’m assuming it pulls just enough to disconnect the cable. I’m sure colder temps also stiffen the cables/makes them less flexible so they pull on the connectors harder at full extension. Not sure a good solution on that. Also wonder if this was actually the cause of my frequent auger overcurrents too - was more recently noticing quite a few front camera disconnects, so I’m assuming it may just be related to that connector as a whole (which seems quite tight/snug when plugged in). Main thing is I don’t want a flakey connection frying the core board.

BTW if yarbo team reads this I think my case number is #144677

Yeah, I was referring to the cables inside the module itself. The fix so far that I’ve seen has been module replacements.

honestly I think my auger motor is questionable anyway so a module replacement wouldn’t hurt. When I did the belt replacement per yarbo’s recommendation I used the opportunity to independently spin everything and noticed in one particular area of the motor rotation it would make a pop/clunk sound, everything else moved silently. Thinking there’s a defect with the motor, magnet came loose, rotor hitting the windings, etc. I’m not sure exactly the design of the brushless motor used to be able to have a better guess. I was fully attributing that to the auger overcurrents i’ve been getting but now I do suspect the m25 connector is coming into play as well. In the scheme of things such a minor yet frustrating cause for something that otherwise works really well
