Oh that can be the issue. If set as router one of the ports is wan, that should plug into the T-Mobile lan port.
It has an app,deco app
are you saying I should change it to access point instead?
Seems they auto sense what is the wan. Likely the one that gets an ipā¦
Ensure that you set up the dhcp server in the unit.
dhcp server is just a blank page
If in access point mode it will act as an extension to the T-Mobile. If you are just having issues to connect to the WiFi indeed this could work.
So I donāt have wifi connected to the rover, I only have ethernet to the dc. Right now I canāt see anything as it is offline. Connected to starlink everything works.
Canāt help you with that at the moment, but will clarify your choices on router vs ap.
Router will effectively create a separate network. All connected devices to that wifi will be routed and have the ip address of the router when on the internet. That being said it will then nat through the T-Mobileā¦again with its ip. Addresses and dns will be set by the tp link.
as ap mode it will take the settings of the T-Mobile and will get ip/dns from it. There will be no additional nat
in this screen shot dynamic ip should get the ip from the T-Mobile router
Some assumptions.
192.168.12.1 is your internal ip of the T-Mobile gateway
199 is your wan address of the mesh
Secondary dns 1.1.1.1 if changeable I would to 8.8.8.8
Again this is on routes mode.
The dhcp on the deco? I know you said you canāt see this. Could be problematic
Yeah if I click on dhcp server, it takes me to a blank page, canāt do anything.
Well I would switch it to ap modeā¦
This is because I have limited ability to TS why that could beā¦issue with deco? Can try a different one. Maybe do a reset on the deco? It could be remembering something.
That could explain some part of the issue.
Are you getting good connection to the T-Mobile wifi when not using the deco?
I do want to apologize and sorry, troubleshooting over a forumn is well, not the best. Hopefully this does not reflect on me.
I appreciate the help. I will give ap mode a try and do a factory reset on the stuff too. I changed the dns from auto to manual this am, and set the 1.1.1.1 in it, but now it wonāt let me do the 8.8.8.8 or even go back to auto. So a reboot might help something at least.
Tmobile works great, great speads, and wifi is just ok, I need mesh to cover my house and shop.
FYI - my Yarbo bumper is still not working so while I am trying to help you I am using vision and well manually having to navigate Yarbo ⦠@Yarbo-Forum a bit of a pitaā¦
I hear ya, I have 3 or 4 open tickets for software issues, or maybe one is hardware, but who knows they just ignore tickets, or close them, lol.
Yeah I understand. T-Mobile was actually great for me. Just got better for less
As they ran fiber down my very country laneā¦unfortunately with all new things they are just not proven. I highly suggest a factory reset when things are not too painful. Even non-cutting edge tech it seems we are all beta testersā¦they also keep taking away the ability to set things. I get it, support gets frustrated with the bells and whistles in others control.
Starlink has been great, but price keeps going up, and the drop out in service during heavy rain sucks.
