The GUI is baffling(why not use an existing interface instead of dragging a finger along a line?), and the direction isn’t followed when it eventually does get set. What am I missing? I’m trying clear an ice skating area and it is throwing the snow back into the center of the area from the edges.
The first lap it goes around the printer and will throw into the area if there isn’t a snow throw direction that it’s reachable. Having snow throw directions on more than one side will really alter the pattern. Try setting it to only one side. You could also use slope mode if you need straight paths. It will blow “downhill” and zero turn and go straight “up” the hill. Then it moves over and repeats.
That’s precisely what it’s not doing though. It’s less than 5 feet from an edge set as a throwing direction and instead it’s throwing towards the far edge. The result is concrete like thrown snow that when it reaches it is unable to clear at all.
Is there a person, car or NGZ nearby? It will avoid throwing towards those.
Not within 50m. I wasn’t even there watching, I was using Smart Vision. Are you saying this isn’t happening to anyone else and that snow throw direction on a space as large as a hockey rink should work?
I can’t say that it isn’t happening to anyone else, but I know that it respects my throw direction. It still has a little problem with one corner near my garage where it doesn’t turn the chute when it should, but it’s much improved in this latest firmware. Do you have an open ticket? They should be able to pull the logs if you have times. Drop the ticket number here and the forum moderator can follow up on it for you.
The chute tracks perpendicular to the yellow line as it is next to it in the plan. Otherwise it either throws forward or into the uncleared area.
Thanks for the replies. I’m unable to submit a ticket.
My left wheel is now stuck after trying to clear the heavy ice also.
How can I submit a ticket other than through the app?

I thought I read somewhere that the perimeter lap always throws snow into the area. It’s not until after the perimeter is completed that snow throw direction comes into play. That was never a concern of mine so I never paid attention to it.
Please correct me if I’m wrong on this.
That may be, but I was 10 or 12 lines in and it was still throwing snow towards the wrong side. It’s possible it saw the hockey boards as a car I guess. But the boards are normal, low boards. The top of the snow chute clears them.
I let it go to see if it was going to eventually clear what it threw, but the deep snow with a layer of hardened thrown snow bogged it down and the left wheel stopped turning.
Luckily it’s light enough that dragging it 100m uphill to a warm shed wasn’t at all frustrating.
If it’s a car it thinks it’s seeing, turning off car detection beta under safety settings would change the behavior.
Throws into the area if it can’t reach the throw direction. Otherwise it should throw towards the throw line if it will reach.
This is what I was thinking.
Turn off the car detection and see if the behavior changes. Cause what you are describing is certainly not normal unless there’s something really unique with your map and your designated throwing directions.
Car detection is off and was never on. It happily rockets snow and ice at cars in other locations. That’s good to know I can turn it on when it’s going by parked cars on the path it clears.
If I manage to repair the stuck wheel I will run it on the ice ink and get video.
Yea, sorry about the stuck wheel. I hope it isn’t anything serious.
Good luck, and I’ll watch for the video. I’m sure we’ll figure out this weird snow throwing behavior.
Mine’s still doing weird stuff occasionally
Hi there, this situation may require further investigation from our support team.
I’ve checked our system and was only able to find a ticket related to the left wheel being blocked. I don’t see a ticket specifically about the snow-throwing direction issue.
Please feel free to submit a separate ticket regarding the snow-throwing direction concern, so our team can properly look into it and assist you further.
Thank you for your cooperation!
Thanks. The wheel block cleared after about 36 hours, so I will try the plan with the snow throw issue. To document it properly, what do I need? I’m assuming a screen shot of the plan with the yellow snow throw lines, and a video of the yarbo at work on the plan. I think the blocked wheel was initially from ice buildup between the wheel and the core. I suppose it could have affected the chute rotation, but I’ll know soon. at 36% charge right now. I’ll send it out at 80%.
Screen recording of the app and video of the core are super helpful. Screenshots also work.
