I’m actually doing now. Once I plug back in after five. Minutes will it find the data center again
It will as long as it is initialized and paired correctly. So far, it looks like it is.
Things are getting better! Let’s see if that RTK status goes to 4.
Do you have a picture of your DC install location?
I’ll get one tomorrow.
That and your docking station location picture would be useful.
@thompson_1414 Hi there, I’m sorry to hear about the trouble you’re experiencing. As Bryan mentioned, we may need more information about the surrounding environment of your data center and docking station to determine whether the issue is related to the installation location.
It would be very helpful if you could also upload some photos to your support ticket so we can better assess the situation. If it turns out not to be location-related, we’ll continue investigating further to identify the cause.
I think that’s the issue. The building (beautiful by the way) is blocking a huge portion of the sky. Both the core and the data center need a clear view of the sky. 120 degrees like a cone that spreads out from each antenna. This is why you have a low CNR value on the DC signal meter and also why you have a HeadingDOP higher than 2 (unusable) at the core. Any chance you can get the DC up higher or move it out more? You can put it in that survey mode for the install like you posted last night and walk around with it to check the signal. If you can get the DC better signal, you might be able to get the rover to start on the dock location and auto dock, but it certainly could give you issues and require you to take it off the dock manually in certain conditions so it can acquire a better signal to work autonomously.
For Sat TV elevation as I remember I was looking for was 25 degrees (angle between ground and the sat dish). For 120 degree of “unobstructed view” this is 30 degree elevation.
On the photo above it looks 60 degrees or more. You need to move it up to the roof or away from the wall.
During installation I notices that level is also adding up. If Yarbo RTK antenna is not located vertically signal reduces.
Beautiful place! Except for that white stuff on the grounds.
Okay I will. Move it away further. I’ve tried to move it further out and didn’t seem to matter but I’ll try again. Do you know if the docking station location matters. It’s on the other side of the garage up against the house. And thanks guys. We love it there but yes very white out!!
Too close to the house caused map drift for me. Had to move it out further in the yard.
Which is now a mud pit thanks to the current docking procedure.
I’d start with the DC for now and get a good signal with that first. The higher up you can get it, the further the wireless signal to the core will work and the better the GPS reception should be (less or no obstructions). Once you’ve got that, you can experiment with where to place the dock or even if you need to move it at all. Ideally it would be further away from the house. Typically 7 ft of clearance all around is ideal, but not always necessary. Your buildings are tall and possibly blocking more of the satellite signal too though.
I’ll try but I had it out in the middle of my yard and signal was still medium. I’m only in a bungalow so building is about 15’ high. If I move data center to no prevail do I need to wait for yarbo support. Do they speak on the phone easy enough?
I’ve heard they are very helpful with phone support. I’d suggest giving them a call and see if they can see something. They have access to more than we do as users.
That shouldn’t be. I assume you mean it’s poor signal at the DC? You made sure your RTK antenna is tight (don’t have to wrench on it, but good and snug)? If so, try swapping the antenna off the right side of the core (as you face the rear). See if that helps. I just wanted to confirm that you installed the thick rubber washer underneath the RTK antenna and that the support bar isn’t blocking any of the RTK antenna. If you did and tightening and or swapping the RTK antenna some more doesn’t help, then you most likely need that adapter kit (or possibly a new RTK antenna). Support should be able to assist you with either. Be sure and include the photos you shared here in your ticket if you haven’t and any troubleshooting details.
