I know you’re not supposed to cut while the grass is wet. But a long job lasted into the night and a heavy dew coated things up pretty good. The next day I decided it was blade sharpening day and decapitated Yarbie like Data in “Time’s Arrow”. I proceeded to turn him over and was surprised by how thick he was coated in clippings.

The underside looked like a glistening, flat putting green. Everything was caked in blades of grass - some around 1.5” deep. After a generous hosing down, blades were sharpened and returned to active duty.

If these clippings had remained on Yarbie’s underside and had a chance to dry, he might have suffered a blade “failure to spin up” type error or worse. Take heed. If the blades sound funny, check it out. Maybe your unit’s underside is coated in clippings.
