During my second area run (it’s a large area) Yarbo headed out to the start point. The start point was completely catty corner from the docking station and a pretty long drive. After arriving at the starting point, Yarbo showed on the app “Yarbo is adjusting the blades”. And would drive in reverse for a very short time while adjusting the blades. It eventually gave up on adjusting the blades and headed back to recharge even though the batter was showing 98%.
I drove Yarbo to the shop with the app and removed the mower head. Stood it up on its side to analyze the situation. The blades were able to spin on their screws as I turned the disk. Not sure what the issue was. I removed all the blades and cleaned out very little grass clippings. I reassembled and sent Yarbo on its way to finish the 8 hour cut. It has worked flawlessly since that first issue.
I would like to know what “Adjusting the blades” means. Is it testing for blade balance? Meaning some debris behind a blade throwing off the balance of the disk?
Or is it referring to blade height? Maybe there was some debris in the way of lifting or lower in the blades?
Either way it’s working but I’m curious what that message means.
The one issue I run into, which is self-caused, is an inability to raise the blades to 4" if the grass we were cutting was wet. It usually happens on pathways and such. My solution for that is to not let anything try to raise the blades that high, lol.
Like Steve said, it’s adjusting the cutting height to the set cut height. There are options for this for all areas and pathways. Be sure and set them all to match the height you want cut at. There is a weird bug where sometimes it lowers it all the way down while charging and if you drive it off the pad manually and activate the blades, this can obviously be unexpected.
Any type of failure to reach the cutting height will cause it to error out and go back to the charger. Kind of a weird feature but also a good one. It can be perplexing if you aren’t watching the app and later realize it isn’t actually cut. Like Steve said, all the way up can cause issues if there is build up of any sort. Buildup usually happens with wet grass or when removing a lot of grass instead of the micro mulching that it’s designed for. A quick hose down will usually get most of the cleaned up pretty easily.
Also be sure that you power down when removing the module and reinstalling it. Hot swapping can cause weird issues. Also don’t forget to clear any errors with the app controller, those typically persist until cleared.
No log history yet. You have to watch the diagnostics screen to see the errors in the status or any other pertinent info. In the main screen it will pop up but they disappear if it’s mostly informational.
