I see there is another post in here about this that is at the extream end of this issue with flogged out wheel hubs.
I caught my bearings before it got bad.
Although the bearings are sealed that isnt a guarantee that they will stay that way. Especially if you mow through wet muddy lawns.
During PM on this particular core of mine I had found that the bearings had ceased due to the seal failing and them loosing all the grease, to the point they had rusted solid. I was able to pick the side seal out to free them up and repack the bearings with silicone track grease to get up and running again while a solution was sorted out.
I started 1 ticket for both sides and as of writing this have gotten repair parts for 1 side. So my suggestion is start a seperate ticket for both sides.
As for the parts that yarbo sent, in my case, has been a little excessive but will fix the issue for sure as they sent me a replacement wheel, axle, bearings, and bogie frame when all I really needed were just the wheel bearings.
I figured that Yarbo where going to take longer than I wanted to get repair parts to me so I went ahead an ordered a set of replacement bearings from Schmamazon for $17 for 4 of them. For those wondering how to figure out which bearings to order all you need is the code off of the bearing itself. Its usually a 4 digit code and sometimes it has a suffix to denote special features
So the bearing size you are looking for are 6002 and you want sealed bearings (not shielded as shielded bearings don’t keep the gunk out) the suffix I ordered were the 2RS.
This part is to Yarbo.
There seems to be a design flaw with the idler wheel bearing set up.
There isnt a spacer between to 2 bearings inside the wheel to keep the bearings spaced in the wheel itself.
When tightening the axle bolt that lack of a spacer support allows the center race in the bearings to be pulled together causing unwanted side loading within the bearing itself. I think this was a contributing factor to the failure of my core along with the wet muddy conditions of my lawn.
Something to think about but I will be adding a spacer in the near future regardless of how the new bearings preform.
