Wheel Lock Up

All i got was that the left wheel blocked error was due the a drive train issue…

“Based on our assessment, the issue appears to be related to the drive train.”

Helpful … /s

Lucky me I played with mine today and it unlocked! There is something wrong as there was nothing in the track or wheels, but whatever it is broke free. I sent him out to do a job, we will see if he makes it.

Have fun little buddy, light fluffy snow, 1 inch or so, but temps around 10 and windy, better him than me.

I’m betting it’s something software related more than hardware. Hopefully they fixed yours and it won’t be an issue again.

It for sure is not software, at least not on mine. I did not open a ticket so they did not fix it. I just kept going back and forth until it broke free. It barely moved at first but then started to go a bit farther, like a 6 inches and then I just kept at it till it broke loose.

I am sure it will happen again, it just will be when. With my luck it will be at the opposite end of my property, and when I am not here.

Water intrusion maybe? Turned to ice and froze the mechanism?? Then thawed and functionality is restored…

No, that for sure was not the issue or it would have just started driving. It has been in a heated shop since Monday afternoon. I had to break it loose. I tried the day it happened by kicking the track in the direction of travel(s), no go.

And also it had finished 3 plans and was in the start of the 4th of the day when it happened, so it can’t just freeze up hard while working.

There is a mechanical issue, there is a reason why people are seeing huge amounts of play in the drive line and worse on the left side.

Please let it be the zero turns. :folded_hands:

Yes — I agree the LW001 issue appears to be primarily a mechanical problem rather than purely software. It may be electromechanical in nature, since the wheel can appear locked at times and then unlock in other situations. Regardless of the exact mechanism, that kind of intermittent behavior is highly unreliable and not acceptable for a product that needs to perform consistently in winter conditions.

How long between putting it in the heated shop and when you were able to force it to move again?

if it’s not ice, wondering what could possibly be the blocking issue.

It was not ice, it was in the heated shop for days. I then had to break it loose.

And then after “breaking it loose” it continued to function fine (so far)?

so weird. Maybe a twig?

Just wondering what it could possibly be that would jam it up, then break, then the yarbo can continue operating.

Still working

Nothing was in it. There is a ton of slop in the drive wheel, that has something to do with it. It will happen again, just not sure how long it will go till it happens.

This post is really interesting and may provide at least one source of the issue Error Wheel blockage, check wheels - #53 by steve

if the wheel moves along the axel too much then the protrusions (I don’t have a better word) can get stuck on the rail.

that would explain a lot of the symptoms and even how rocking back and forth and “forcing it” can potentially fix the issue. If you do the right jostling that could put the wheel far enough back on the axel to no longer hit the rail.

im waiting for the snow on mine to melt, so will take a look in a day or two.

I don’t think that the drive cog hitting was my issue. I think it is play in the gear box area.
