So my core had track issues, they were very loose the shaft wore and gave way to a lot of slack between the two parts. they would have 1/4 or more play on the wheel. I sent in the video and they decided it wore prematurely, they sent me a refurbished unit and in shipping i think in shipping the back heavy metal plate was bent so bad i could not open the back cover to even power it back on. They had me send it back and they then sent another refurbished unit. same issue occurred but this time it was in the center of that heavy metal back plate and again could not open the cover to even power the unit on. I asked for a new core to be sent. They agreed, i then received the new core and all is well, But wanted to point out there has been much change in the 2024 unit i got new last year to this new one. Biggest thing i noticed was how quiet it was. I mean no more whining with the drive motors when moving not a single whine it is so quiet all i could hear is the rubber on the concrete. I was shocked.. so mine must have been bad from the start and did not know any better just thought it sounded like it did and thats how it was, that was farthest from the truth. Also the put a plastic cover over the entire wires inside to keep rodents out i assume it was completely sealed off , this is a good thing.. the back metal plate in the rear protecting the plastic plate is now removable with Allen screws and not pop rivets, must have had too many bent plates and now can be replaced. I am sure there are more changes that we were not aware of.. I will update as i find out things. but right now it is 100% better than it was before. just for the quietness of the drive train or the silent drive train.. anyone else have this experience?

It is a little quieter, but not enough to justify the cost of shipping another core IMHO. You can still hear the gear whine.
Got it. It did seem crazy to think that it had none or that it was like the M-Series. This post just had me thinking.
You can request the Core’s interior plastic cover if you don’t already have one. I think it’s well worth it to help protect the internal electronics.
Oh, yep. I did get that and installed it. I really appreciate that they did that. I just got curious about the possibility of a reduction in the whine that the tracks make. It isn’t crazy loud, but knowing there were improvements had me hoping.
For sure. It would be nice having a quieter drivetrain. if they offer it, I’m first in line to order it! I bet the new quiet gears will also have a longer lifespan as well.
But if I was being honest, on an ordinary basis the gear noise doesn’t bother me too much. I’m not in the yard being ‘disturbed’ while Yarbo is mowing. I’m off doing something else while Yarbo does its thing. And with the snowblower or leaf blower, you’re not gonna hear the gear motors anyway with those blowers going.
I hear the mower more than the track when inside. And it has to be right outside the window and is barely perceptible. Doesn’t bother me and my neighbors haven’t complained when I’m mowing the lawn at 3AM.
Yep, agree with you both. I’ve run it at night, and I’m not usually out when it’s working. Neighbors love to talk about it for what it does, not its noise. Eventually, when I’ve totally worn this out with normal use and Yarbo improves further, I may pull the trigger on whatever comes next.
Anything to improve the lifespan of what I have is a plus to me though.
I would also buy the drivetrain upgrade if possible. When I use “tow mode” in the fastest settings for towing you can very clearly hear the drivetrain screaming.
For sure. If they had a way to just upgrade with instructions, I’d be down.
If they brought the M drive motors to the Y, I would probably be down for this too. Much faster and super quiet.
