I ordered the Snowblower/Pro Module package during the initial launch of the Pro Module series. I received the Core (and all it’s goodies) near the end of July 2025. And I waited, patiently -of course, for the Pro Module to arrive. So, my Yarbo Core seen minimal action, sitting firmly upon the charging dock awaiting it’s Pro Module buddy.
Fast Forward 3 Months Later…
The Yarbo Core I purchased in July simply would not charge on the docking station. It would line itself up and then give the shout-out, “Ready to Charge”, yet failed to charge. The Yarbo Team worked their Magic and confirmed the charging unit inside the Core was faulty.
Fast Forward 3 Weeks later…
The replacement of my Yarbo Core arrived a few days ago.
And, so far, so good. It works as expected. Yippee!
However, I couldn’t help but notice the Core that I received a few days ago now has a metal cover inside protecting the wiring, speakers, and such.
Excellent Idea!
Now, I’m no engineer by no means, but… Why didn’t ALL Yarbo Cores come with this metal casing? Kind’a makes ya wonder… Perhaps the built-up grass debris seen in the picture had something to do with not charging?
I believe it’s plastic. Mine is at least. It was an update to help keep debris, snow, ice, water, and other stuff away from the internal components. It should not have anything to do with the charging issue you experienced. That was most likely a component failure. All the internal boards are already sealed with conformal coating and they also added a flexible sealant over top of that as well. The protector shield is just an additional layer of protection.
@Fishy Hi there, Thanks so much for sharing your detailed experience!
To clarify, the charging issue with your previous Core was caused by a faulty charging unit inside the Core, not by the lack of a cover.
All internal components are already protected with sealant and insulation measures. That said, to further minimize the chance of some rare issues, we’ve optimized the design by adding the cover for extra protection.
Wow, the all plastic covered Core looks so much better. I had to have my Core replaced in August due to a power board issue. Now my new one has the plastic over the power board I wish the rest was covered like this person’s Core
