Yesterday evening I was manually controlling yarbo from the app to adjust some zones, no-go zones, pathways etc and since it was getting dark I had the lights on.
Then I noticed that time to time all lights goes out and after 1-2 seconds they are back.
This happened some 4 - 5 times during 40 minutes … so most probably roughly every 10 minutes or so.
For me it looks like some bug.
Has anyone else observed something similar?
App latest and firmware latest.
Couple of days ago (before getting latest firmware) I did not observe any issues while mapping area during dark.
With the latest update, there have been some adjustments to both the charging logic and the light control behavior. When the device reaches near full charge, it enters a trickle charging phase. To help protect battery health, the system will periodically pause charging and allow the battery level to naturally drop (to around 98%) before resuming charging.
During this process, the device may switch between charging and non-charging states. When it is not charging and not in sleep mode, the lights will remain on.
However, based on your description (lights turning off and back on briefly during operation), this behavior does not fully align with the expected logic. We would recommend submitting a support ticket so our team can review the logs and further investigate what might be causing this.
If you do run into the trickle charging phase lights-on bug that Yarbo is referring to, and you run HomeAssistant, you can create an automation to immediately turn Yarbo’s lights off while docked. I’ll attach a photo of my automation so you can see what I’m talking about. My Yarbo is named Predator so that’s what HomeAssistant will pick up for the integration name.
I’ve also mentioned it in the ticket I have in for my DC issue from that same thread.
I have in fact seen this happen twice now. On one occasion it also coincided with a sudden but temporary loss of connection to the rover. Weirdly the camera feeds stayed up, but the rover was uncontrollable.
