Please add the ability to turn the lights on/off while Yarbo is performing a task.
At this point all the lights are automatically turning on right when Yarbo starts a task and even when I stop the task, turn the lights off, they all come right back on when it starts again. There’s an apparent bug in the last firmware update that’s caused this. Prior to that update it didn’t do this behavior.
Thank you for your feedback! We’re glad to inform you that the ability to turn the lights on and off while Yarbo is performing a task is already in our development plan, and we aim to release this feature in future updates (approximately in April or May)!
At present, the lights are designed to automatically turn on when the camera detects insufficient light, and sometimes factors like shadows or other environmental conditions can interfere with the camera’s judgment. This might be contributing to the behavior you’re seeing.
We appreciate your input and are working hard to improve the experience!
As I replied in another thread - the feature isn’t working correctly. All the lights turn on immediately while the unit is sitting in open space with nothing around it, in bright sunlight, no clouds, no shadows, nothing.
Mine does the same lights on all the time during daytime in direct sun light . Cant turn them off while mowing . I know its a small draw on battery but would like to reduce even the small draw .
Even after the latest update I will look out in the morning and all lights are on. There is no need for the lights to be on when in the charging station.
This isn’t normal. Is it actually charging at that time? Do you have a no charge period set? Assume you’ve done the standard reboots to try and fix it? I would get a ticket open to track it.
I do have a “no charge time” set. Where I live, off peak charging is between 7:30 pm to 7:30 am. I was wondering if the lights were turning on when it detects the changing pad turning off or on?
If you are turning the charging pad itself off at that time, then this is why the lights are turning on. If you have it set up in the app to not charge during that time, then this seems abnormal to me. However, if all they do is stop charging, then the lights would turn on. This is the same thing as if you manually stopped charging.
I’m experiencing the same. This is the first time the Yarbo core lights were on in the morning, and the unit was no longer charging. I do not have a no charge time set.
Ok yeah if the charger is off then the lights would come on until it goes into standby. The only lights then would be the small bar lights at the top. If you connected with the app, the lights would turn back on again.
My lights never turn off when running a plan, even with Auto Light Mode enabled. This was supposedly fixed 2 updates ago. There are many other higher priority items to fix. It wasn’t worth fighting that battle.
Auto light mode just turns them on automatically if it gets too dark for the cameras. If disabled, it’s supposed to remember your manual settings from the controller (if you shut them off). I use auto and haven’t really played with it TBH. I want vision to work as best as it can and prefer the lights to be always on anyways. It was an interesting choice of implementation. I would have just made it on or off.
Note: Due to current limitations, if Auto Light Mode is enabled and the mower automatically turns the lights on in low-light conditions, the lights will remain on even if the environment later becomes brighter.
@laudav1285 The lighting system will turn on when the unit stops charging, and it may also stay on for a short time after a firmware update. Usually, the lights should turn off automatically after about 5 minutes.
Could you please check whether the lights staying on is related to either of these situations? If not, please let us know and we’ll look into it further.
@Tom.C Hi Tom, thanks for letting us know. Could you please submit a support ticket for this? That will allow our team to take a closer look and help identify the root cause.
