Yarbo just started to not be able to align itself on the docking station. It was fine last week. Now I keep getting errors that auto charging failed after the jobs are complete.
I attempt to manually align it and it claims it is misaligned or battery is overheated. I tried to align it manually at 9pm last night with a temp of 65 degrees.
Is there something going on with my charging dock?
I charged it using the charging cord and that worked fine.
Thanks!
Couple things to try:
Check that dock has power the blue light is on.
Reset the dock by unplugging for 30 seconds and plugging back in.
Restart to rover from the app using Settings → Safety Settings → Restart Yarbo System.
Thanks!
Blue light definitely on.
Tried the unplugging last night, no change.
Restart didn’t fix it.
Sorry, looks like a support ticket is next.
Support ticket is well… the ticket.
Ticket created.
What does the temp in the diag screen show? I have had the same problem when it runs a full job and then comes back to start charging. If the diag screen shows a 1 on the battery Status then you will see that error. I was told that the battery temp is just of the variables they look at for charging. I have seen my battery temp be above 50 but my status shows 3 and it works. But I have also seen my battery show 48 and the status is a 1, and I get the error. The only option is to wait or pull the battery and manually charge. Just my 2 cents.
The error can occur at any point above 45C.
I’m sorry to hear about the issue you’re experiencing. I’ve checked your support ticket, and we’ve already retrieved the logs. Your case has now been escalated for further investigation.
It’s possible that the issue is related to the docking station, but we’ll need to complete the analysis before confirming. We truly appreciate your patience and understanding as we work to resolve this.
Similar issue. I just got mine this week. I have almost exactly .5 of an acre to cut and it can’t even complete in one day. The battery is overheating and it was a cooler day (80’s F). It also had trouble aligning on the dock.
I called today and they said that this is a known issue and they are hoping to push out a firmware update in a couple of weeks in the “hopes” of correcting these issues.
I’m sorry to hear about the issues you’re experiencing. Please rest assured that we’ve been working on improvements, and a firmware update addressing this is planned for the near future.
In the update, we’ve implemented a thermal control strategy to help prevent the battery from reaching the threshold where it cannot charge. We’ve also added a feature that allows the battery to automatically resume charging once it cools down to a safe temperature.
We truly appreciate your patience and understanding as we prepare to roll out this update.
I had the same issue with docking. I sent the logs but Yarbo could not resolve the issue. Have reset everything and Yarbo misaligns everytime on the dock. It tries to align 10 to 15 times on and off the dock and most times ends up hanging about 6” off the back of the dock. The only fix so far is after it gives up trying to align is to maunally drive & align onto the dock.
Certainly hope there is a software fix for it, but strange that only a few have this issue and others are fine.
I’m among the fine group. I wonder if reinstalling the docking station would help?
You may have already tried that though.
This would be my recommendation. Once it’s on the dock it should be aligning with the magnetic sensors. It’s possible it could still be a hardware issue. Support would need to run a magnetic sensor alignment test to confirm this.
Hi there, as our support team mentioned in the support ticket, have you tried using the trinstall docking station to see if it helps? If it doesn’t resolve the issue, please don’t hesitate to reach out to us again and we’ll be happy to assist you further.
