Trouble Shooting Tip | “Yarbo is adjusting the blade”

If you notice an unusual, recurring “Yarbo is Adjusting Blades” message during mowing sessions, it may be caused by:

  • Loose or faulty internal wiring

  • Grass buildup or debris around the cutting discs

  • A malfunction in the cutting motor or cutting height motor

What to do:

  • Lift the mower’s front – If the error disappears when lifted but returns when lowered, it could be wiring-related.

  • Inspect the cutting discs – Remove any grass or debris blocking the blades. If the error still appears, contact Yarbo Support.

Note: Always wear gloves when inspecting or cleaning the cutting discs.

How to Address Missed Cuts?

Missed cuts can sometimes occur due to factors like slope influence, obstacle avoidance, or position drift. If you notice a missed cut on your lawn, you can try the following steps to resolve it:

  1. Increase the overlap settings (adjustable between 0-8 inches).

  2. Turn on the adaptive ramp feature (if the missed cut is likely caused by slope).

  3. Go to the area settings and adjust the route rotation degree to your preference, ensuring the missed spot is covered in the next work plan.

We are also working on long-term solutions for each possible cause. For more detailed information about the causes and long-term solutions, please refer to the ‘missed cut’ section on the following page.

Controller Child Lock – SAFER Operation with Yarbo

Yarbo values safe operation! Enable the controller child lock to prevent any accidental issues. When activated, the child lock restricts certain controller functions, such as the operation of the driving pad and the settings for turning the cutting discs on/off (lawn mower) as well as the settings for turning the auger on/off (snow blower).

To enable or disable the controller child lock, simply go to Yarbo Settings > Safety Settings, where you will find the option for the controller child lock.

Update: Firmware 3.10.0 and App 3.16.0

With the release of Firmware 3.10.0 and App 3.16.0, we’ve introduced key improvements to navigation and reliability. Here are three highlights:

Yarbo Lab – (Beta)

We’ve added Dead Reckoning (DR) to keep Yarbo on track when GPS signals are weak. With PPVS enabled, Yarbo uses its internal sensors (IMU + odometer) to estimate position and continue working.

PPVS Settings:

You can now adjust how far Yarbo is allowed to travel without GPS before stopping:

  • Boundary Travel Distance (Pathways, Dead-Ends, Boundaries, Sidewalks): 33 ft (default)

  • In-Area Travel Distance: 165 ft (default)

  • Drawing Max Travel Distance (Mapping): 17 ft (default)

These parameters can be customized in:
App → Yarbo Lab → PPVS

By default, DR is ON with the above values.

Adaptive Route Pattern

The Adaptive Route Pattern has been introduced to provide more flexible area routing options, helping to improve mowing efficiency on large and complex maps.

To enable it, go to Area Settings and switch the Route Pattern to Adaptive.

When selected:

  • The Yarbo Lawn Mower will automatically choose the nearest starting point to begin mowing.

  • Instead of mowing around each no-go zone perimeter separately, it will mow the perimeter of a no-go zone when it naturally reaches it along the set route.

  • Reduces unnecessary travel lines that cut across an area.

  • Minimizes lawn wear by applying adaptive routes that reduce frequent turns in narrow spaces.

Function Labels for Areas

You can now assign function labels (e.g., Lawn Mower, Snow Blower, Blower, SAM) when creating or editing areas. Multiple labels can be applied to a single area.

In addition, you can choose to filter the map by specific function labels or view an overview of all mapped areas at once.

Flexible Return Options for Mowing & Snow Blowing Schedules
Your Yarbo just got smarter! Now you can decide how it should return when following a schedule:

  • Return at Set Time :alarm_clock:
Yarbo will return at the exact time you set, even if the task isn’t finished.

  • Return After Completion :white_check_mark:
Yarbo will keep working until the job is done, even if this goes beyond the scheduled end time.

You can easily switch between these modes in the Schedule interface.

No-Charge Periods
Take control of when Yarbo charges! You can now set up daily non-charging periods in the app (for example, 17:00–20:00). This feature is off by default, and the minimum interval you can set is 10 minutes.

How to Set a No-Charge Period:

  1. Open the Settings page in the app.

  2. Go to Work Preferences → No Charge Period.

  3. Tap the “+” icon in the top-right corner to add your preferred time window.

  4. Tap the “√” in the upper-right corner to save your settings.

Edge Blowing Toggle (Blower)
You now have the flexibility to control Yarbo’s edge-blowing function with a simple toggle.

  • By default, edge blowing is enabled for all zones.

  • When turned off, Yarbo will skip edge-blowing actions during operation.

:warning: Note: The toggle cannot be changed while a work plan is in progress, paused, or when Yarbo is returning to recharge.

Feature Highlight: Auto Light Mode (Lawn Mower)

  • Enabled: The mower will automatically adjust its lights based on surrounding brightness during a work plan.

  • Disabled: The mower will maintain the manual light settings you configured.

  • Go to Yarbo App → Settings → Work Preferences → Auto Light Mode to adjust Auto Light Mode

:pushpin: Note: Currently, if lights are turned on automatically in low-light conditions, they will remain on even if the environment later becomes brighter.

:bell: Notification Optimization

We’ve improved the notification system for more accurate and timely alerts.
You can now view your full notification history in the User Center by tapping the bell icon in the top-right corner.

Pathway Obstacle Avoidance (Lawn Mower Pro)

Pathways can be tight and busy—fences, walls, parked cars, even temporary clutter. To handle this better, Yarbo Lawn Mower Pro now lets you toggle obstacle detection independently:

  • Use Vision (camera-based)

  • Use Ultrasonic (ultrasonic sensing)

These controls deliver precise tuning for different environments and flexibility to balance maximum safety with smoother, uninterrupted mowing.

Physical Controller Optimization

The latest update adds two key improvements to the physical controller:

  • Proportional speed control: Joystick travel now scales speed—push farther to go faster within the selected Slow/Fast mode.

  • Easier straight driving: The straight-line zone on the driving pad is larger for smoother, more stable control.

Plan List Optimization

We’ve refined the Plan List for quicker scheduling and clearer tracking:

Drag-and-drop reorder: In Work Plan → Plan List, long-press and drag plans to set your preferred order—changes save automatically.

Last work date: Open any plan to instantly see its most recent work date for easier planning.

:fallen_leaf: Dive into the Route Pattern of the Yarbo Blower

The Yarbo Blower Module supports two main route patterns — Parallel and Spiral. Each pattern offers a unique movement style and airflow direction option.

Parallel Mode:

  • You can set any edge of the working area as the blowing direction (minimum edge length: 3 m).

  • Only one continuous edge can be selected (multiple short segments are not supported).

Spiral Mode:
There are two Blow Direction Options:

  • Interior: Blows leaves inward from the edges toward the center.

  • Perimeter: Blows leaves outward from the center until they are pushed outside the area.

Note:
When operating on pathways, the blowing direction is limited to the right side of travel.
