Thank you for the explanation, Bryan! That makes sense. I hope Yarbo eventually provides more detailed guidance on how to read the diagnostics pages, because that would be really helpful for troubleshooting.
I think this is the last thing left for me to try. I’ve been putting it off because I’ll need to run about a 40–50 ft Ethernet cable from my Xfinity router to the Data Center’s PoE injector. Confirmed that my router (500Mbps) supports 100 Mbps or higher — thanks for that tip. Hopefully this resolves at least some of these issues.
Now the only challenge is figuring out how to snake a 40–50 ft cable through the house without making a mess!
There is actually some good documentation here already.
Thanks, Bryan! I connected the Data Center’s PoE injector to my router via Ethernet as you suggested.
The good news is that the HaLow icon now appears in the app, and the DC connection now switches between 2 and 3 as expected. So that part definitely improved.
Unfortunately, my original issues remain:
- WP005 still occurs whenever I try to add a new mowing area.
- The Bluetooth handoff still seems unstable. When Bluetooth connects, diagnostics sometimes show incorrect/default values, and map behavior becomes inconsistent.
So the Ethernet connection appears to have fixed the DC/HaLow setup, but it did not resolve the underlying software/map-editing problem. Thanks again for pointing me in the right direction—it was definitely worth trying.
I have definitely seen the Bluetooth lag and instability. I just disable it when it gets like that.
Not sure on the editing issue. Something deeper going on there for sure.
Glad the HaLow issue has been resolved. That should let you connect outside of Bluetooth range.
I didn’t initially suspect Bluetooth itself was causing the issue. However, after following your suggestion and testing with Bluetooth disabled, Yarbo worked much more reliably. So it does not seem to be a Wi-Fi issue alone. Somehow, the Bluetooth connection appears to introduce network instability, while disabling Bluetooth on my phone makes Yarbo much more stable over HaLow/Wi-Fi.
Yes, this has been my experience as well. They need to add a toggle in the app to enable Bluetooth if the network link is down. Or if you click the broken chain it asks you if you want to connect over Bluetooth. Bluetooth shouldn’t be default.
