The PowerButton on Yarbo serves the following functions:
Starting Yarbo: After ensuring Yarbo is fully assembled, press the Power Button to start Yarbo.
Activating Bluetooth Pairing Mode: When Yarbo is powered off, you can enable Bluetooth pairing mode by pressing and holding the Power Button for five seconds.
After holding the button for five seconds, the tail light on Yarbo will turn blue and then turn off , indicating that Yarbo’s Bluetooth device is now ready to pair.
Are there other functions of the power (activate) button? I read people who had to hold it down for 60sec or something. I’m always worried it will reset something since that’s what power buttons do on other devices.
It won’t reset to factory or anything that I’m aware of if that’s what you are concerned about. It resets some hardware safeties that might be tripped.
I think Yarbo’s manuals are great compared with similar product manuals, but I wish they were more complete. I read someone holds the button for 30sec, another for 60. And it’s not clear why. But I think you’re right. I think only the reset button resets the unit, which is thankfully recessed and not easy to hit.
Completely agree. The reset button is a mystery to me. I was told a long time ago never to touch it and I don’t advise anyone touch it unless support advises you to.
@Yarbo-Forum@marco can we get some updated details in the manuals and wiki?
With the instruction to press the power (activate) button for about 60 seconds, this is typically a troubleshooting step for power-board issues and will not reset the system. There is a separate reset button on the rear panel that can affect the system, so please do not press that button unless you have official instructions.
Not sure if it is 30, 45 or 60, but I had 2 major crashes (unable to reboot the core) and I was able to reboot the thing by holding the buttong for 60s… I noticed something happening after about 45s (but I was counting in my head so not sure exactly how long) but I kept the button pushed up until 60s…
I really think the 60s push does something different than a reset in the app or a power on/off. No confirmation by Yarbo…
