I’ve noticed the “Restart Yarbo” button in the app doesn’t do anything. I guess it makes sense since the “Shutdown Yarbo” button completely turns off the core.
Why have it then?

If you turn off Yarbo, you can only turn it back on by going to Yarbo and turning it on. But if you restart it, you can do it from the app. Restarting yarbo usually works.
Restart Yarbo should work, it does for me. If you are having issues, I would suggest force closing the Yarbo app and restart it.
This should definitely put it into the rainbow lights flashing amber strobe mode as it restarts some things. If not, unplug your battery cable for 5 mins and see if that clears it up.
What I am trying to do is fully turn off all power the core uses during unused time frames. Say midnight to 7 am.
I have found that if I scheduled a power down of the charging pad, the battery continues to drain.
I was hoping that shutting down the core, via the app, would stop the drain and it does.
Unfortunately I have to “start” the core manually after the remote shutdown.
My other hope was also to lengthen battery life.
I agree. Would love to shutdown remotely during unused times the remotely power back when needed… maybe a couple of days later. Not sure if Rover can gon into a deep sleep waiting for a remote command to wake
Yarbo is a Linux box, and at the end of the day it is a PC with several NICs.
There is some chance that you can fire it up with a WOL packet (Wake On Lan) if they left that option enabled in the BIOS. But if they didn’t, then probably not.
