Alternate Studs

Anyone else out there on rough gravel driveways that have thought about alternate studs for the snow track?

eg stuff like

Only bigger lol. On heavy snow like during this storm, my yarbo just tends to belly-slide, no traction.

Why not?

My only hesitation would be if they are too big they may rip the treads or put more added stress on them.

Yeah maybe have that 185.00 on deck for new snow shoes if they are too aggressive on the YARBO treads. I can’t wait to see it you try them out.

Hi there, I understand why you’re considering alternate studs. If you decide to try them, please keep an eye on the snow tracks as we can’t be sure how those studs will perform with Yarbo’s tracks. Just a friendly reminder that any damage caused by modifications like this may not be covered under warranty.

Kind of why I made the topic  like, from a hardware engineering perspective, what would be the constraints? What would be supported? In your infinite available engineering time can you figure that out for us? At some point, I’m sure I will have a fully hackable platform to experiment with. I got the Yarbo partly because it seems the components in it are pretty top notch and your work to make it commercially viable means I can see how it performs in person spending a whole lot less money than if I did my own R&D

Bring one with you, and look at something akin to this. We used to throw one of these into the heel of our boot for walking on ice or soaked (slick) wood.

Length and diameter will be the concern, obviously. 1/4” might be better, and it might not need to be pointy.
