A recurring problem I have is that when I disconnect the mower module in order to clear it, change blades, etc., when I reconnect it to the core the camera no longer works. rebooting the entire Yarbo solves the problem, but I don’t feel like I should have to do that EVERY time. If I forget to re-boot before sending it back out it tries to clime trees, rocks, and other obstacles, once resulting in a broken disc. Is there a fix coming for this?
If you go to SmartVision in that situation, is the front camera showing an image?
Not long ago I saw several reports of the front camera not working in SmartVision, with a reboot getting it going again. I’ve even seen that once or twice, but it’s been fine for quite a while, and I haven’t seen other reports about it.
If this is happening often for you, given that I haven’t seen this reported in a while, I’m thinking it should be fixed already, so I’d holler to Support. Yarbo gets different cameras from different manufacturers, so they may need to tweak yours.
You should always shutdown the core in the app before disconnecting the module. Hot swap is technically supported but not advised because of edge cases like this. Plus there is always the potential when connecting and disconnecting the module connector of generating a power surge.
good to know. Thanks!
I don’t agree with the “solution”. When I shutdown, I lost the progress on a long work plan. So when I need to clear, I pull the emergency stop and mechanically disconnect the mower without unplugging the connector. Just lay the mower on its side, leaned against the core body, and do my repair. Then reattach, pull up emergency stop and back to work. It picks up right at the plan point and no waiting for startup or reboot.
While this works, it will cause extra strain on the cable and connector over time. You’re relying on an emergency stop switch which isn’t a physical disconnect but an electronic software enabled switch AFAIK. Could fail and something might start automatically. Like you forgot to lock your phone and accidentally hit a button or something. Things happen.
Shutting down for me has not lost my progress. I have sometimes when pulling the battery cable. However, screenshot the percentage of the plan before shutdown and you can start it back at that percentage (or slightly before) if it doesn’t show back up after powering up. This is the safest way to do maintenance short of pulling the battery cable.
I agree waiting the minute for startup is a pain, but you’ll have much better luck and safety if you shutdown Just my opinion.
