Cameras showing No Signal

Hi everyone! I hope you are all well.

I opened my new Y series core yesterday and attached the Smart Module. Very excited to get things going. I have a problem though in that none of the cameras seem to work. When I go to the Smart Vision section in the app, or even the Follow Me, the cameras show no signal. I’ve got a ticket open with Yarbo as I called their support and went through a few things, but thought I would reach out to the community to ask for advice.

Many thanks,

Martyn

Hello.

Congrats on the new Yarbo.

My initial thought is to let your Yarbo install any firmware updates that are needed.

If the firmware is already updated, give Yarbo a reboot and see if that clears the camera problem. My cameras do this on rare occasions, and a reboot always gets them back.

Please let us know what happens.

Hi, thanks for the reply. I did install the updates and rebooted but does not seem to have disappeared. I am hopeful that Yarbo technical support will fix it without needing to send me another unit. They asked me for a shipping address at stage one which worried me slightly that they are not confident they can fix…

Sorry to hear it. Certainly not an ideal first impression of Yarbo.

In the interim, you should be able to use the robot and start familiarizing yourself with mapping and learning the ins and outs of how it mows the lawn.

Up until late last summer, live camera views weren’t even available, so I wouldn’t say you can’t use Yarbo without them. Take this time to start learning how the robot works, and we’ll be here to help you along the way. And hopefully Yarbo Support will get your camera running shortly.

Thanks very much indeed. I have come over to Yarbo as a former Lymow owner and already liking what I see!

I’ll await an update from tech support and take it from there. I have just put in an order for the trimmer module!

You’re most welcome!

There are a few Lymow owners here on the forum. I never bought one myself, but have been following them closely since day one. I think they have the potential for a great product if they keep iterating and learning from their mistakes.

Candidly, these are early days for all of this current generation of robot mowers. So lots of innovation, lot of trial and error, and occasionally frustration.

I’m assuming you have some acreage to mow, right?

Hi Martyn - just want to confirm you are on 3.13.11 firmware and using app 3.18.6? If so, unplug the DC POE injector and battery cable for 5 mins and plug it back in (starting first with the DC). If they still are not working, make sure your HaLow connection is TRUE in diagnostics and your core is not tethered to your home WiFi.

I noticed my cameras are offline this morning, too. Offline after rover reboot as well.

Have you tried a restart of the rover and or DC?

Just for kicks, I checked my cameras. Mine are working. So likely not a widespread outage.

Sometimes mine do stop working randomly, and a Yarbo reboot always fixes it.

Checked mine too, working but front has orange tint issue, reboot fixed it. Another yarbo quirk.

Restarted the rover twice without any status change. I’ll restart the DC later.

Hi Bryan, thanks for your reply. I am on 3.18.6 of the app and 3.13.11 of the firmware, both marked latest.

I will try unplugging the DC POE injector and battery for 5 mins then plug back in. My HaLow is true but I am connected to WiFi on the rover so I will disconnect that. Would it be normal that I am not connected to WiFi to make the cameras work? I will let you know how I get on. Thank you for your pointers!

Bryan, you are amazing! I disconnected from the WiFi and the cameras magically started working! Thank you so much!

Glad to hear it. They should work on WiFi, but stranger things. WiFi generally isn’t recommended for daily use though. It can cause weird convection issues.

Restarted rover and dc but still can’t access cameras.

Is your rover connected to your home wifi? If so, forget/delete it and reboot the rover.

interesting… I’m not having the exact same problem, but I am having an issue with only my front camera showing only a dark gray screen, yet I’m not getting any errors while the rover is operating.

What does your camera diagnostic statuses look like? Have you tried unplugging the battery cable for 5 mins?

Not sure where to find camera diagnostics in the app. Haven’t disconnected the battery as this is becoming far too routine for troubleshooting. Seems ridiculous to have to disconnect the battery all the time.
Also appears the DC is malfunctioning again. Seems to be running in local mode since connection is stuck on 3.
