Core smells like it let out the magic smoke

Plastic wire cover was pre-installed.

Other than the package dust, looks like a nice clean core.

Roger that. It did have the rear frame bent where you can’t get the rear cover open to push the “activate” button. I think I read that is usually a sign of poor handling during shipping. Gets dropped just right and you can’t open the door.

Yeah, unfortunately that is a thing. However, they stopped riveting the back piece of the frame, so you should be able to adjust it with the screws? If not, a block of wood on the frame and hit it with a hammer a few times usually gets it out of the way without any damage.

That’s one nice looking core! Thank goodness it’s not one of the super-used refurbs.

Now put that pizza on a plate and get in your garage. It’s time to play in the snow!

It has some warts, but fewer than my core had. Let’s see if it boots. Time to install antennas, side plates etc.

Get it on your WiFi as soon as it boots and don’t touch it until it updates. Should hear ready to work twice. May take up to 30 to 60 mins. Once you hear it reboot you can check the firmware version. If at the latest, you are good. Otherwise, wait longer. Keep the app closed too so the update kicks off faster.

How does he transfer his maps to the new core?

You go into settings, previous maps, click on the cloud icon at the top right and then tap on the old serial number and hit restore. DC and Dock all get restored. Pretty sweet actually, works very well.

Now that I think about it, your core is probably already firmware updated. Probably don’t need to wait for updates.

Hey yo it’s a new YARBO!

How does the new core find my DC? Does the act of downloading the map set that?

I’m contemplating not downloading my map at this time. Start with a fresh map for the driveway and the snow. Maybe download it later. (Spring time?)

Documentation says I can download the map from the old serial number. That would seem to imply that the new core will have its own cloud stored map too.

Anyone see any holes in this process?

Also found some areas of missing paint. better pick up some black paint.

I kinda dig the remapping idea. It’s cold out though. I deleted my old B1 main yard map because it was causing me issues with my S1 sidewalks.

Speaking of paint- anyone recommend a paint for a touch on my machine for the back bumper plate after I backed up the side of my house?

It has all of that information stored in the map. I’d say restore it and delete what you want to remap. Otherwise, go through the DC install process and DS install process and create new.

Restore the map it is.

zero track grease on the refurb core. Swapping to snow shoes so that’s a spring task.

Antennas migrated, snow shoes installed, map reloaded, and back on the charging pad. To dark and cold for me to do a test run on the driveway. I’ll do that tomorrow.
