Wasn’t me that let the smoke out. It was working fine when I sent it to charge after remapping part of the driveway for better snow removal testing. (No snow yet, and I’m perfectly happy with that)
I see no evidence of charing anywhere. But it sure smells like electronic smoke. Replacement core is being shipped.
Maybe I’ll pop the top off tomorrow and take a better look.
And I quote, “We have already initiated a replacement for your Core unit. Once it is dispatched, it should arrive within 3–7 days, and you will receive the tracking details through an automated email.“
@ken.w.gregory This is where the magic smoke came out of mine last February prior to them sending out the goo. I’m curious if it is the same place as yours.
I installed it at the top of the upper cover underneath the wiring harness. My thought was this would keep the wires from rubbing against the sharp edge. Is this where that goes?
They send two braided sleeves but only show one being installed. Is the other not used?
The newer 2024 models have a cutout, shown in the video, where the tab of the top cover slides into. Mine didn’t have that and the tab just sits behind the lip of the plastic frame.
That looks like mine. The cutout at the top doesn’t matter. It should work without it. The spare loom I would install on the lift actuator cable between it and the plastic.
Thanks. I wasn’t worried about the cutout. I just figured it was worth pointing out for others. I’ll install the other sleeve around the actuator cable.
