Lost maps with refurbished core

I purchased a new Yarbo with lawnmower Pro in May. The core got a power board error about six weeks ago, and I just received the refurbished core today, packaging up the old core for pick up. I have run through the outlined process to start using the refurbished core. (after receiving an error that the core was registered to another user, which Yarbo cleared) but my prior map is not available on the cloud. I’ve been receiving some mixed messages from support, with the latest one suggesting in a cavalier manner that I just might have to create maps manually. If that is the case, it is really the last straw as it took me well over a dozen hours to create more than 120 dead ends for slopes on my property, etc..

manner that I just might have to create maps manually. If that is the case, it is really the last straw as it took me well over a dozen hours to create more than 120 dead ends for slopes on my property, etc.

Has anyone else had this issue, and is there a particular support person that would be helpful in finding my old maps?

Did you go through the process of reinstalling the data center?

Make sure cloud map sync is enabled under settings, privacy. The cloud icon should show up under previous maps at the top right and your old cores serial number should be listed. If not, and support can’t locate a copy of your map, then unfortunately you will have to remap. Drop your ticket number here so the moderator can follow up on it for you.

Hi there, I’m sorry for the inconvenience with the map restore. I’ve reached out to our FSE team and asked them to review your case as soon as possible to see if your previous map can still be located and restored from our end. I’ll also keep an eye on the case and follow up with the team.

I have to say I admire the fortitude of many of the users here. I purchased a Yarbo in May and were it not for this resource and the valuable input of the members I would have lost my cool during installation. After some valuable lessons learned and valuable time spent mapping my yard, including six hours creating 122 dead ends to mow the slopes in the yard, I enjoyed a month of great performance before getting a left track blocked error. On advice of support, I carried the core in a sling to the docking station, pulled the tracks and verified smooth operation, and then drove it to an open area where they diagnosed some voltage error on 8/2. I received a refurbished core two weeks ago and it was “bound “ to its former owner so we took the time to install the antennas and box up the old core. Unfortunately after the typical back and forth messages with support 12 hours ahead of my time zone they discovered my maps were not in the cloud. By then my original core was gone.

More significantly, I am now unable to reinstall the data center. I get the same recurring errors despite running the recommended diagnostics and have been referred to a senior specialist who will get back to me some day. For now it sits on the docking station gathering dust. Of course in Montana my mowing season is near an end.

Is anyone else as frustrated as I? The process of mapping and doing diagnostics, packaging up old core, etc plus then getting to mow the old fashioned way just feels…wrong. Can you imagine dealing with these frustrations with, say, a $6000 high end e-bike? At what point do you throw in the towel and take it to an e-waste facility…or is there a rescue organization for defunct Yarbos?

Thank you for the reply. I just saw it now as I was sending the second message. I guess it took some time for the mods to approve the original message. Sorry for some of the duplicate posting.

Hi John, I’m really sorry for everything you’ve had to go through with this. After all the time you spent mapping, troubleshooting, and getting the replacement Core set up, I completely understand how frustrating it is to now be stuck with both the missing maps and the Data Center installation issue.

As we mentioned in your support ticket, we’re currently checking with our warehouse to see whether your original Core can be powered on once it arrives and whether the map can still be recovered from it. We do want to be transparent that there is a fairly high chance the recovery may not succeed, and if that happens, the lawn may unfortunately need to be remapped. We know that’s especially disappointing given how much work you put into creating those 122 dead ends.

Regarding the Data Center installation, I also checked ticket #239126 and have asked the FSE handling your case to follow up as soon as possible. We’ll continue pushing this forward and keep you updated through the ticket.
