I cannot create a map

I bought a used 23 model and even when I have great GPS and green on the indicator, the app fails and says:

" Failed to get location information of Yarbo. Please make sure you are connected to the Yarbo first"

I have HaLow, and I also had deleted all of the maps from the previous owner. so far, I can only drive it around manually with the app or with remote.

Have you reset the HaLow base station and reinstalled the docking station and base station in the app for the new locations?

The used market on these sort of things scare me. Don’t really know how to “unlock” some items from the old account.

Activation lock is the only hurdle and if they got the app connected, they are over that hurdle. Then it’s just a matter of getting it setup for the new location.

I wasn’t too worried about Yarbo… but these things locked to accounts in general.

Bought a car from a dealer a few years back. It still had the previous owners address saved as Home and the built-in garage door opener still synced. Good thing I’m honest.

@jlosey8642 Did you get a chance to reinstall the docking station and data center? I’m curious if this fixed the issue.

It worked with the normal yarbo controller, I need to try the same with the HaLow when I get a chance. I will be mounting a few routers with directional and omni-directional antennae over the next few days to see if I can get my yarbo to cover my property.

It took Yarbo a week to get the device unlocked for me to add it, then a few more days of learning curve, I’m sure I will be up and going in a week or two.

Just curious what you hope to accomplish with the routers? The HaLow signal comes from the Data Center and when Yarbo is connected to WiFi it can cause issues. Current recommendation is to NOT connect Yarbo to WiFi.

Yes it does as a retrofit and WiFi is still not recommended in that scenario. It was required I believe when the original shipping solution was LoRa. That was problematic, hence the switch (for free) to HaLow.
