lawnmower completes the job but stops cutting the grass along the way. others who have experienced this. if you restart the task it cuts again.
Like it stops cutting mid job but keeps following the path lines? That’s a new one. I’ve seen it miss lines because of avoidance or because the path planning algorithm takes way too long for the rover to get back on course sometimes. I believe this is a known issue and being addressed. Lets hope in the next firmware!
Yes it still follows the lines of the pattern and you can follow it in the app but when you look at the lawn it hasn’t mowed the grass. Once it managed to complete the job before I noticed it. Another time I had to change the battery and then it started mowing the grass again. Then I just had to go back to the point where it had stopped mowing the grass and start from there. Once there was also an error that the mower was lifted without it being lifted there Yarbo had lifted the mower completely and then I also had to restart to get the mower calibrated to medium height on the lift motor.
So it sounds like you haven’t hot swapped the module and since you swapped a battery there was a hard restart. Short of reconnecting the module connector (with power off), it sounds like support may need to run some diagnostics.
We’re sorry to hear about the issue. We’ve shared your case with our support team, and they’ve confirmed that it requires further investigation. Could you please submit a support ticket with detailed information about the problem, including an approximate timestamp of when it occurred? This will help our team retrieve the relevant logs and identify the root cause.
Feel free to share your support ticket number here as well — I’ll do my best to help accelerate the process. Thank you for your understanding!
Support ticket #82321 has been opened, thank you for that.
I have hot swapped the mower with SAM before but not this time. I had changed the battery earlier in the day
Is Yarbo’s official position “No Hot Swapping”?
Did I miss where that’s documented?
It was recommended in the FB group a long time ago to reboot after swapping modules. This was because the cameras would stop working on Smart Vision. But, given it can trigger the power board warning and other potential power surges or brown outs when connecting the connector, I have always shutdown. This accomplished the recommended reboot and prevents any of the weird voltage and bus interrupts that can lead to corner and edge case issues. There is no official word that I am aware of on “No Hot Swapping” from Yarbo but in my opinion, there should be. @Yarbo-Forum can maybe confirm the official guidance.
Bottom line, if you do it, you won’t break your unit (2024, I don’t think it’s supported on the 23), but if you don’t reboot immediately after, you will have weird issues. If you have to reboot, why not just shutdown in the first place and play it safe?
Ignorance is why.
I consulted the printed manuals supplied with the units. They all are written from he prospective of a new machine install. Nothing about “how” to swap modules.
I finally unboxed the snow blower and connected it. That baby blows some air!
Proper dust storm in the garage. Had no idea there was that much dust in the garage.
Next time I’ll open door and stand outside.
Leaf blower now has a tracking number. Maybe I’ll try that outside.
I loved testing that when it was hot outside. It does move a lot of air and it felt good on a hot day.
No shortage of hot days right now. I did see someone requested a “fan” mode be added.
Cool off the party I guess..
Thank you for sharing your thoughts. Yes, we still recommend not performing hot swapping with your Yarbo. While we’ve addressed some of the issues that could result from doing so, it’s still best to power off your Yarbo before changing modules. This helps avoid any potential voltage fluctuations or unexpected behavior.
We appreciate your caution and attention to detail!
That should probably be documented somewhere. Not everyone reads forums or has Facebook.
Just my 2 cents.
