Mapping is Off Center and the Map Size is Larger Than Physical Map Area

I have tried to do several maps. I have attached a picture of the mapping. The map area is the correct shape; however, it is not centered on actual map coordinates and the digital map area is larger than the physical map area.

Without remapping, how do I edit the map to center it on the correct coordinates and shrink the size to fit with the correct coordinates?

Kyle,

It is ok. Your map is superimposed over a satellite (google earth?) photo of your property. It is there for background and not to scale.

Hi Kyle,

As @kmurray6113 mentioned, the satellite photo is just for background reference. If your rover’s position on the map matches its actual location on your property (regardless of the satellite image), then your mapped areas are fine and there’s no need to remap.

You can simply re-upload the satellite background image and adjust its size and position to better align with your mapped areas.

Feel free to reach out if you have any other questions!

You can pinch, zoom and rotate the image to manually align it with your map. It’s a little tricky and app doesn’t allow enough zoom to get it dead on. Even then, it won’t align perfectly due to geometric distortions inherent in satellite images.

Seems like an easy fix to improve this on the Yarbo backend. The DC and core know their exact position and direction. Why not use that to overlay and scale a proper map, instead of each human doing their best guestimate?

Agreed, but there are bunch of more important things I’d prefer the development team focus on before this.

Pretty sure I saw them say on here or on FB that something like that is coming.
