I removed the guards today and it really improves the cutting ability on tall grass. I placed all the screws back in behind the cutting discs. I have also found there is less buildup. The guards collected grass and debris which ultimately caused the overcurrent error on the cutting motor.
Bryan,
What is the machine in your photo which accompanies your message?
Those are the blade guards and blade guard mounting brackets
Bryan,
I was asking about your icon photo.
Ken
Ah, ok that makes more sense now. I was looking all over for a machine.
That is what Microsoftâs AI thinks a Yard Robot mower and snow blower named Yarbo that is black and yellow is. I like the fans for track wheels.
OK Thanks. Thanks also for all of your great advice and information. I am having a lot of fun learning about and using my new Yarbo. I mowed half my yard (area North Lawn) last night while we slept. All My neighbors are asking me about it.
Youâre very welcome. Glad you are enjoying your Yarbo. Night mowing is pretty awesome. Just keep an eye on the underneath of the mower deck for any buildup from wet dew laden grass. A good leaf blow/hose down/both will get most of it off before it hardens. Be sure and shut the unit down before disconnecting the module or reconnecting a module.
Bryan,
I usually remove the mower module and blowing it out with compressed air before beginning mowing even with dry grass. Yesterday I removed the blade guards but not the brackets and it rained yesterday afternoon. Therefore, the grass was wet last night. I REALLY had to clean it this morning with a putty knife as well as compressed air. As I am 74 I will remove the brackets in a day or two after my aches and pains from working on the garage floor yesterday clear up.
Removing the brackets will really help too. Yes, garage floors are very hard on the body. I fully understand the aches and pains.
Tip: If you saved the foamy stuff that the Yarbo was packed in, the flat ones make a great thing to kneel on when cleaning the mower, lol.
Thanks, good idea. I do, in fact, have all the packing foam because I did not know what to do with it. It wonât fit in trash cans and county will not pick up bags.
Makes good packing material if you are building a boat with flotation compartments! Just make sure you epoxy them into place so they donât rattle around!
I honestly thought you built that and were into the whole robot wars thing.
