Would you mind sharing a screenshot of your diagnostics? RTK, Status, Data Center, and HaLow sections.
Absolutely. Below are the diagnostic screenshots you mentioned. I also included a screenshot of where the Yarbo thinks it is versus where it really is, which is on the dock shown in the same screenshot. This is the best correlation of reality to perception that it has accomplished since it powered up. At one point last night the difference was over 100 yards and the direction that it was pointed was approximately 160° different from the direction in which it was actually pointed.
Hello I am certainly not expert when it comes to troubleshooting the Yarbo however I noticed the on your RTK diagnostics the L2 reading is 0. I was having connection issues and my reading was similar. It turned out that my center antenna on my Data Center was bad. I was connected to the Netrtk while the replacement was sent all all was great. You can also try switching to the Netrtk from the Data Center and see if that gives you any improvement. I did have to perform a map drift correction.
L2=0 is the issue. Try swapping the left and right antenna on the core and see if anything changes.
Your right side antenna is most likely bad. If you have a spare, swap it onto the right side. This controls direction so it could explain the orientation issues.
Thanks everyone. I have several spare antennas will do as suggested and report back.
Ok, I just replaced the antenna with a brand new one fresh out of the bag. Here is a screenshot of its relative position to where it actually sits facing the opposite direction on the charging station and a screenshot of the diagnostics.
I really appreciate the support from the community. Anything else you all think I should try?
You could place the rover correctly on the dock then hit map drift to try to correct this. Make sure GPS is green when you do this.
Hi B-Mod,
That’s actually part of the original problem. It will not recognize the charger and therefore I cannot do a map drift correction.
however, in rereading your comment, you made me realize that I said that it was facing the opposite direction of what the map is showing. I misread the map and it is now facing the correct direction. It is just in the wrong location.
Thank you,
Jeff
Did you try now to see if it will install the charger-dock?
Yes, as part of the troubleshooting we did yesterday I did a complete erasure of all data and reinstalled the Yarbo as if it was brand new. I was able to get the data center to reinstall, but unable to get it to recognize the charging station at all. As an attempted workaround, we tried having me set it up as if I did not have a charging station, but then I got an error that said GPS transmissions are delayed Try later. As an experiment I may try that approach again now that I’ve swapped out antennas. I’ve had to run out for a bit so I won’t be able to try until I get back home in about an hour.
thanks again for the suggestions
I am interested to see if now with seemingly good GPS if you can install dock, or yes the wired route would at least get you hopefully in business just slower manual charging.
Unfortunately, no, it will still not recognize the dock. I put it back on the dock each time to charge, even though I’m using the wired charger. So in that screenshot, it was actually sitting on the charger in the correct direction and the correct position even though the GPS showed it sitting in the middle of my living room.
So, some good news at last! ![]()
By completely erasing everything reinitializing the data center and setting my system up for no dock I’ve been able to create a small test map that seems to be executing correctly.
Although not a usable, long-term solution, it at least is a small success and gives me encouragement!
Thank you community for all the help.
You should be able to charge with wired and remap and mow each area. Hopefully support will get you going soon and then you can restore your maps and correct for drift.
Status update. Although still waiting for tech support to diagnose and assist on the charging dock issue, by manually remapping two of the five acres so far, I’ve been able to begin fighting back the onslaught of growth from my Florida “yard”. My dogs will be sad because they like to eat the burrs that grow when it gets too long, but they will just have to deal with it.
Besides, by the time I get the other 3 acres mapped and mowed some will be bearing ‘fruit’ again. The most difficult thing to get used to is manually charging. I guess you don’t really appreciate something until you don’t have it anymore.
Well now you kind of know what it is like to own a lymow one. After every mow, I have to go out and lift it up and clean the charging pads under the mower, and then set it on the dock. Poor design but still better than me mowing.
Hope yarbo gets back to you and you get back to normal charging soon.
Thanks B-Mod
Wrapping up day 9 since I opened the original ticket. Glad that I have a work around, but really hope to hear back from tech support soon on the dead charging deck issue.
By setting alarms at night I have been able to keep the charge / mow cycle going 24 x 7, but it seems to take longer to charge with the wire than it did with the deck.
I’ve fashioned a heat shield out of aluminum soffit to keep the charging hours more productive. It was stopping charging completely during the heat of the day but the heat shield seems to have at least partially mitigated that.
Anyway Yarbee and I are holding the line until help arrives. ![]()
That is great you can keep it mowing!
Yes the wired charger is slower.
Hope support can figure out your issue.
you need an extra battery and a charging cable when you only have the wired charger. the wired charger takes forever compared to the charging station. keep fighting.![]()
